I'm talking about guys who can't do anything on their own srs. Guys who can't fix their own cars, plumbing, electrics, carpentry etc etc. Sometimes work really does require a pro who has been doing it for a living for 20 years but common, I'm talking about the guys who can't install a sink, remodel a room or do their brakes. How do you guys live with yourself when you are at the desk job with your wife at home and the tradesman come into your function to fix a plumbing leak followed by your wife leaking?

Depending on the issue, I can fix my own car if it's something that doesn't require a mechanic. I know absolutely nothing about electricity, other then to flip the switches on the breakers and flip it back up again to restart everything in the house. Never installed a sink but I have worked with my father to install one, and never remodeled my room(wasn't a need to growing up and spent 4 years in a barracks anyway) but I helped my dad reconstruct the front patio.
I know how to shoot a gun/rifle, how to save your life, and how to kill you though, so like...that's pretty cool too I guess." You're either motivated by a dream or a nightmare."

Simple mechanical work I am able to perform on my car and kawasaki srs
By simple, I am referring to:
-engine oil change
-oil filter change
-flushing all fluids and refilling with new ones
-changing brake pads/disc/rotors/drums
-adjusting motorcycle chain tension
Anything beyond that, like a valve adjustment that I will need to perform soon, will require more expertise than my own srs

Or I could simply pay someone. Take a fukking nap. Eat a restaurant while taking an uber for a day or two without stressing about me fukking up my car.
Lol @ tradies who think fixing a car will make them get laid. No *******. U get used for ur skill and ditched. Then come on the misc ebragging about how much "pussy ur swimming in". I bet you think risking your life in war taking a metal projectile through your skull is "manly "and coolFLAT: 225x11 INCLINE DB 100x9 incline bench 225x8 deadlift: [RETIRED!! OUTTA HERE] FS: 225X8

THIS. I try to explain to people why I focus on career/my job so much rather than distract myself from being mediocre at a bunch of nonessential skills when I'm able to just pay someone to do it for me.
To an extreme degree a lawyer doesn't have to worry about being able to fix his BMW, he gets someone else to do it/doesn't have to worry about it because the reward of his job performance/skill allows his to not focus on learning that type of thing.
If you enjoy doing something like that then hats off to you, I don't.Soda free/Pork free

LMAO at the butthurt ITT. I'm not even a tradeslave. When I think of a proper American man, I think of someone who fix his own problems while also having a well paying job.
I was watching The Conjuring earlier again and Patrick Wilson's character came to mind. STEM dude with more than enough money while also being very mechanical with his hands..

My dad is someone who can pretty much do anything like that, he built his own house and rebuilt a boat, has a shed bigger than his house. Has just about every tool under the sun. That said admittedly im not that great with that sorta thing if you asked me how to replace a sink I couldn't answer.
But give me 60seconds on the internet and ill find a video that explains it all no problem.Things are always as good or as bad as you think they're going to be

These
My dad made me paint our house and chit like that but he never taught me how to fix my car or anything. All the things that are easy to learn are also cheap to have someone else do and everything else you run the risk of just making things worse
lol @ remodeling a room or doing your own plumbing. Ain't nobody got time for that chit

I charge $140 an hour to do freelance programming.
The plumber costs me $30 an hour.
If work that needs to be done takes me 6 hours, it probably takes a qualified workman 4 hours to do.
If I take 6 hours off, I lose $840. If I pay a workman to do it, I lose $120.
MIND = BLOWN that you wouldn't get someone else to do it.
Unless you're poverty and on minimum wages, you should always be paying other people to do menial work for you, because your time is much more valuable than Joe Shmoe's.
Misc, you've done it again with your illogical threads.

That's what I mean man. Half those things are easy to do. It just takes a little bit of creativity. I find it hilarious when I hear about cucks overpaying a plumber to change out something as simple as a sink or a mechanic doing brake pads. The majority of these guys aren't even at work making more money to compensate - they are sitting on the couch rotting or something waiting to hear the phone call about the job being done.

A proper American man wouldn't value his self esteem on external factors (eg comparing yourself to others and making a thread about it putting others down). You might be able to do xyz but there are a lot of things that you can't do yet others can. If your mental strength is in thinking you're better than everyone else then it's the height of insecurity.
