Pretty close imo, I would have no problem with him winning. I think ramy's biggest weakness is the lack of detail in legs from the front, and his awkward posing. Front relaxed is wicked good.

I agree. I am not suggesting that Ramy should have won the show. I am simply pointing out how well he stacks up to Phil, when on. Though you can definitely make the argument that he was deserving of second.

I understand ramy getting 4th but not by the judges logic. I had him in 4th/5th in prejudging but a strong 2nd in finals. I don't see rhoden or ramy beating him in a single pose in finals

How Ramy didn't place 2nd boggles my mind. Judges must have been punishing him for looking flat in pre-judging.

What I like about Ramy is that his shape reminds me of Ronnie in his prime.

Looks like Ramy needs to improve his RLS and upper abs when posing. Phil has more depth in those areas.

But imo Ramy has phil beat on the rest.

He looks unreal there but the angle hides his disproportionately narrow upper body and he always looks like the GOAT by himself. It's the comparisons that shrink him and expose his flaws

You have to dethrone the champ according to years of listening to judges speak on the issue. I clicked on one pic and zoomed in and Rammy had soft looking hammys and calves from the back. If I saw that then you know that the super critical judges did.

LOL, I can't stand Phix but he earned the title this year. Looked the best he has in a while.

As far as Ramy goes get over it guys, he will never put it all together. He comes in too big year after year, once now he comes in decent condition and he just does not look good. Maybe he filled out for the finals, it was not enough. His traps looked strange, in some shots it's as if they weren't there. Huge chest is great, but not if you can't see any striations in it when he's doing a MM. Honestly I didn't even have him in the top 6, Roelly and Bonac definitely were better... MUCH MUCH better. So here's my prediction, Ramy won't bring a better physique than he did at this year's Olympia. He may place higher, even win the show, but it will be because everyone else sucked worse.

Dexter is a magician. Mad props to this guy. Incredible bodybuilder.

Rhoden looked good this year, I'm not a huge fan of his physique but he keeps improving each year. IMO Dexter edged him out this year but it was close enough for me not to care.

As more and more time passes I must say Bodybuilding seems to be regressing. I watched the telecast, surprised they're going to show it on CBS next year. Since the 90s it's been downhill. Ronnie IMO peaked at the 99 Olympia, sure he had more mass later and was probably even more dominant, but the perfection in this sport was achieved almost 20 years ago, with possible arguable tossups like Dorian and Levrone at that 96 German GP. Lets face it, whatever has happened since, we have not seen bodybuilders like that since. I'm not knocking on Phil or Kai with this remark, they do what they can, but the sport as a whole seems to have regressed, terribly.

Honestly when I look at those pics in comparing Phil and Ramy, Phil is just a tad more detail everywhere than Romey does. He looks a bit leaner. I can see why he beat him again. I don't get how Ramy wasn't 2nd though. He's going to take one of these soon.

I can't see a case for Ramy placing 2nd. He was extremely lucky to get 4th IMO. Bonac was better.

Ramy needs to work on his posing most of all. He also needs to refine some areas.

Ramy's back lat spread lacks detail. Just a bunch of width (same for Rhoden), while Phil's is narrower but actually showcases all the back muscles. That's far more impressive than just flat width. Phil also destroys Ramy with calves, hamstrings and glutes. Ramy's legs are huge, but Phil actually has bigger calves and has more details everywhere. Ramy needs to achieve that distinct hamstring separation and glute striations.

Ramy also tends to lose his quad separations in many front poses which can easily lose him points. Some of this can be blamed on tanning/oil as well. But you simply cannot see quad separations properly in many poses while the other guys on the stage look more impressive even with smaller quads. Everyone, save for maybe Roelly beat Ramy's quads based on separation alone.
Only in the Most Muscular can you see how great Ramy's quads really are if he focuses on flexing them and popping those separations. He needs to pull that off in every pose not just on one leg.

I see Ramy definitively winning the Side Chest, Most Muscular and Front Relaxed, but everything else is Phil's. Phil's posing is far from perfect - especially in terms of symmetry and aesthetics, but he knows how to make sure every single muscle is popping and all the details are visible. It may not look the prettiest, but it does make him beat the competition consistently. Because if a competitor looks more aesthetic and has focused all attention on a single muscle group - Phil still beats them by having his entire package overwhelm them.

Phil might not be a memorable champ like ronnie,dorian etc because those guys competed when competition was really stiff along. I feel that phil will be like lee haney, a bunch of titles yet not really all that mentioned.

However phil is better than everyone he has competed against, especially when he comes in full and dialed. He just isnt much to brag about he aint huge, he doesnt lift like a truck, hes cocky and arrogant so its easy to dislike him.
