Like I said, each to their own. You could potentially die doing something arbitrary. Everything is dangerous.
I like motorbikes and the relative cheap/thrill ratio they provide compared to cars.
Cars are just a utility thing for me. Then again, they are useless in traffic.I measly rep back, always.

Tempted to quote stats, but i'll be nice. While I agree £34,000 isn't a huge salary; it's not what you make - it's what you SAVE!
What's wrong with buying a £15K Boxster (relatively new - only 30-35K on the clock), if that's how much I save a year living a pretty good life? You realise most people don't drive Boxsters because they have a mortgage and save MAXIMUM 5K a year, usually way less, if anything at all.
Let's say my insurance is £1500-2000 (when I hit 25), road tax isn't very much, and petrol/maintenance i've accounted for in the 10K I spend currently in my post-tax bills but even bumping that a bit higher; combined, that's EVERYTHING paid off with 18 months wages. And I still have plenty of money for food, restaurants, games, holidays, gym memberships, hobbies, contact lenses, student loans, direct debits, etc etc.
For those 18 months until I break even, I will have a GOAT Porsche to enjoy on windy roads and motorway and I can use it to drive to my hobbies and work. Surely it's a better return on investment in terms of enjoyment and pleasure than sticking 10K a year into a poverty cash ISA with a 0.25% interest rate return??

You all are morons if you think just because you have a nice car you are getting laid. Case and point a guy at my gym has a really nice modded CTS-V. He could not get laid if his life depended on it. Strong potato ITT.

First of all, the ones you posted are the newer boxsters, which will be 45-50k at the cheapest
Might as well get an older S2000 for 10-13k, looks the similar, most people won't be able to tell the difference, cheaper to maintain/insure, same power, probably better handling, doesn't look gayBlaugrana Crew

My friend just dropped £10,600 on a used 2012 Mercedes C-Class.
It's a nice car don't get me wrong... but he could have got a 2007 Porsche Boxster with only 40-50K on the clock for that.
I guess different people want different things though. He's older and married so needs a backseat for his upcoming toddler in the near future. I just want to ride up winding roads and mountains alone with the roof down and enjoy life in my own company.
What do you guys think is the better deal?
