so today i only had time to fix up a tuna sandwich with some rocket salad mix as a post workout meal 1 hour or so after my shake l as i ran out of rice and potatos.
macros are:
28 grams of protein ( 15.7 from tuna and like 12 from the whole grain bread)
62 grams of carbs (from the bread)
5 grams of fat
it fits into my daily macros as well.
was that good enough ?
p.s
shake was 40 protein 50 carbs (too high on protein i know, will adjust)

Wouldn't eat tuna every day due to mercury content; could switch to salmon, sardines, herring, or mackerel.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

If it fits within everything else.........
I've been doing a couple of peanut butter sandwiches and a tuna sandwich when I get back in from the gym on wholewheat bread... keeps me happy as a quick fix rather than waiting on rice... I've also added 1L of milk into the mix and 3 or 4 bananas too... solid quick and easy feed...

If you include carbohydrates post workout, aim for higher glycemic carbohydrates such as dextrose.
Honestly, the post workout meal thing may not even matter much https://jissn.biomedcentral.com/arti...1550-2783-10-5The Ultimate Resource on Dieting and Intermittent Fasting

If you already had 40 grams protein after your workout you really don't need more protein 1 hour later.
Carbs post workout aren't necessary.
