http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/...adbpr=10671602Howdy! As you may know, PlayStation Meeting is happening tomorrow in New York City at the PlayStation Theater. It’s only open to members of the press, but we also wanted to open the invitation to PlayStation fans to watch live.
So here’s your invite! Join us at live.playstation.com tomorrow, September 7, starting at 12:00pm Pacific / 3:00pm Eastern.
And stick around after the presentation for a special episode of PlayStation LiveCast. See you tomorrow!
So tomorrow is the Sony press conference where they'll finally reveal the Neo, announce the already leaked Slim, hype up vr and hopefully have some more surprises in for us. So figured might as well get a thread going early to talk/speculate before we finally get confirmations tomorow. Also some rumors of a new possible handheld in the works as well, though I dont see that being announced this time.
Are you guys exicited? what are you hoping to see?
My predictions -
PS Neo - $499 at the very most. Wont go above that, but most likely it'll end up beinf $399 for the Neo and then the regular PS and Slim will probably get a price drop to 299. I hope its a holiday season 2017 release but that's just way too long from reveal and considering what Houser said about following the Apple format I think we'll see the Neo launch alongside the VR unit or early 2K17 bundled with Horizon (That Horizon neo patch hnnngh) but that's really pushing it.
It'll probably focus more on VR and vr games, but I think we may see one unannounced big game showing up .... Sucker Punch has yet to show us anything, seems like a good time for them to show us a teaser.
The other thing they'll put their focus on is showing us current games running on the neo patch and which games that have been already released would get a neo patch. Uncharted 4 and Horizon to be the biggest show stealers with a neo patch, but still run at 30 fps but they look absolutely mind blowing. Tomb Raider gets the Neo patch, as well as FF 15. Rachet and Clank gets a 60fps boost.
I'm still not a fan of iterative consoles, but I'll end up buying a Neo eventually I suppose.

lmfao ... If that happens aliens will reveal themselves.
Rumors suggest that all new games following the Neo will have two different versions - Base PS4 and Neo Versions.
While the games that have already been released will get a Neo patch (adding improvements to frame rate/graphics) provided the developer wants to do it. So obviously some of Sony's biggest first party games are likely to get upgraded while third party stuff is upto its respective developer - I think Witcher 3 is a strong contender to get a Neo patch.Sig line can't be a novel

That's what some are speculating due to Sid Shuman saying "Howdy!" in the PlayStation Blog.

As for consoles, I think that they are going to announce the PS4 Slim and it'll be available for pre-order right away.
I then hope they announce the Neo with better specs that the Scorpio and it'll be available next year.
Sony has a history of letting Microsoft show their hand then one upping them. By letting Microsoft announce the Scorpio and it's specs at E3, Sony knows exactly what to aim for to meet or beat the Scorpio's specs.
However, I honestly don't think it needs to be better/more powerful than the Scorpio for it to be successful.
This gen, Microsoft has fallen behind PlayStation as far as games. On top of that, they are essentially making their console pointless since you'll be able to play most of their games on PC. So if the Scorpio is very powerful, it'll be expensive. If it's too expensive, then most people will see that they are better off getting a PC to play MS's games.

Yeah.
If Microsoft is indeed "restarting" the gen again next year with Scorpio, then Sony should just go with it, thats what happened with the Xbox and Xbox 360, a four year gap. Let a beefed up "Neo" that can compete with the Scorpio in terms of power come in late 2017 and let that be backwards compatible with the PS4 and then after 4-5 years again they can just come out with the PS5. I dont know what their business decision is going with iterative consoles. Seems like they're just going their own route or Microsoft has put them in a sticky situation lol- The neo will only be marginally more powerful than the PS4 and according to the rumored specs nowhere near close to the Scorpio ... What are they gonna do, release the next iteration of Neo that can compete with Scorpio in 2018.
I do think power matters though, especially considering how our Xbox brethren are having to play certain games in 720p and FF15 looks like dogchit on the Xbone version and the PS4's is just passable. I dont want to know those feels and I dont want xbox one gamers to have that either lol.Sig line can't be a novel

Well the great thing about pc is there's so many ****ing games to choose from that it doesn't matter if one doesn't work perfectly on launch.... Plus it will get patched and work either way.
Let's be real for a second dude. I'm not console bashing. I have one. I don't use it. Consoles have bashed themselves and their loyal customers enough this gen. I'm not saying to go build a pc if you play an hour a night. But if you are an active gamer who plays multiple hours every night you are seriously doing yourself a disservice by having that attitude towards pc gaming. This gen has proved it's literally better in every way to be a pc gamer. Pretty much a fact at this point. The games being buggy at launch is literally your only argument.
Its completely inexcusable that Sony and Ms launched consoles and before they can even hit their peak they are already being replaced. If I was a hardcore console gamer I would not be giving them any more money out of my pockets that's for damn sure. Sony has the nerve to raise their subscription prices on top of all that... And if you don't pay? Bye bye all your digital games. Your games are literally being held hostage.
You can try to bash PCs all you want but you legit have nothing to bash. If you like your console then fine. Keep it rolling. But if you are sick of being ripped off.... Maybe it's time to look into the master race.Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

I'm semi-trolling because I see console get bashed a lot by PC users. I have both and still use my console exclusively. I like to kick back and relax with a controller on a couch. (in b4 you can do that with a PC, just not the same to me)
I'm also not a huge graphics guy, I care about the content and replayability of the game. All the games I would buy on PC also exist for consoles. Sure there are tons of games available for PC, but most look like garbage.
