Should I continue lifting weights if I want to do boxing?

Is weight lifting good for boxing and combat sports?
What do you guys think of lifting weights for boxing?

I do. I'm in San Diego if you want to spar. Moving to LA in two weeks if you're closer to that area.

I say yes, keep lifting. It rarely hurts to be strong when fighting someone! Obviously you should prioritize your skills and conditioning above strength training, but don't stop doing it.

Definitely keep lifting. You want to be skilled, fast and conditioned but you also want to have power (strength and speed) behind your punches.
