"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game against Green Bay. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."
49ers response
The 49ers issued this statement: "The national anthem is and always will be a special part of the pre-game ceremony. It is an opportunity to honor our country and reflect on the great liberties we are afforded as its citizens. In respecting such American principles as freedom of religion and freedom of expression, we recognize the right of an individual to choose and participate, or not, in our celebration of the national anthem."
funny though
if a player said something like "i really think gays shouldnt be allowed to get married" he would be suspended but this is ok

6 years 114 mil contract (61 mil guaranteed, avg annual salary 19 mil) for one of the biggest failures in the league
claims black people oppressed (he's only half black)
..... doesn't do sh*t to support black people.
Carmelo at least spoke out about it to the media about how black athletes have to do their part.

How f oppress black and people of color if that blacks and people of color would work for 50$/month back home. I know, I worked for 50$/month. How about Copernik go back where his parents of color come from.
Actually anyone who do not like how is in USA should go back where he or his parents come from, or his ancestors.

I hated him before for being a lil bish and crying that he wanted to be traded. I hated him because I thought "how can you be so phukking stupid? You make millions of dollars a year and will be the starting qb for as long as you're on the team. You're an idiot". Now I hate him even more because he's even more artistically stupid than I though
