Hi guys,
I know it's recommended to take pre-workout on an (semi-)empty stomach. My only question is, if someone is training first thing in the morning, which would mean eating breakfast before working out, am I right in thinking that the only way around this is to awake roughly 60-90mins before working out and taking the pre-workout 15-30mins before your session?
I was hoping there was some other timing combination that would work to get more sleep in.
Thanks

You don't have to eat a BIG meal before you go, could be something small like a granola bar, protein bar and some fruit then take your pre workout and go lift.
Try different ways to do it. Take your pre before the gym then come home and eat
Eat something small, take your pre workout then hit the gym

just get a protein shake or something prior or go fasted and eat after. play around with it a little bit.
I'm currently adjusting back to early morning workouts myself (and need a stim pre-WO as well atm) and I've just been playing with when and what I eat a little to see what I like. you should do the same40: 4.3s

I train @ 5am a couple mornings a week. I wake-up 50 min before the workout, have one tbsp coconut oil, a fish oil, and a scoop of whey. 30 min after that I have my one scoop of Hyde (not Mr. Hyde) or Ergoblast, + 3gms citrulline and drive to the gym. Epic workouts every time!!!

not necessarily. there are many more things that factor in than just whether or not you eat prior to a workout, including the type of workout you happen to be doing at the time. Now would I personally go lift heavy for a 60-90min session on an empty stomach? no. but if I'm going on a morning run I'm having my waking micronutrients & maybe some bcaas, stims, and a little sugar at most. like I said, play with it a little bit and see what you like

Backload your calories and train fasted in the morning. Take a pre if you want and have a serving of BCAA ore workout as well.

You can train fasted if you want to, plenty of people do. That said, many other people feel better training with some food in their stomach. Using a preworkout after eating is fine...it won't hit quite as fast, but it'll still work. My workouts are just better with food in me...definite difference in performance. I still use preworkouts and they still get the job done.

If you could wake up and down a mass shake, maybe some extra fiber.. You could take your pre workout 5/10 minutes before training.. So as long as you really have 30/45 minutes from the mass shake you should be good to go in the gym. With the shake and the digestion rate being higher you should be good to go with the pre workout hitting fast.
