Hi, 2-3 years ago I used to be fat. I was 210 lbs. Took me maybe half a year to drop to 170 lbs and since them I'm wobbling between 160-175.
But here is the problem, when I lost the 40 lbs years ago I still had high body fat. So recently I have been trying to reduce it by eating right and running 3/4 times a week.
Today I am 170, 5,10
Can you please tell me how much body fat % I have? I am trying to reduce it to 15% and then start bulking.
I have been running for exactly one month. Am I close to my target?
thanks ahead guys, have a great weekend!

I'd say 20% or so as well too. Did you lift when you cut your weight? Running is great and all but its more for health, you won't get a 'hard' look by running alone, even if you get down 12-15%BF. You need some muscle mass. If you've never lifted you should see strength gains while cutting for a few months.
Starting Weight 215, 25% BF
Short Term Goal: 10% BF 160
Long Term Goal: A Lean 205!!

I stopped telling people body fat %, not only does it make them paranoid, it can break some of their spirits. I'd say you should focus on losing 10lbs and then evaluate yourself, in the mirror. "Do I need to lose 10 more lbs, or should I start adding weight?" Now if you can see your ribs without trying, then I think you should not lose any more weight, if you focus on a number for guidance, it will just mess your head up. One guy posted what he believes is your bf %, and I will neither agree or disagree with him, but who cares what your number is? I used to obsess about getting to 10% or hating myself when I was 15%+, now I just look in the mirror and ask myself, "Can I afford to lose 10 more lbs?" If the answer is yes, then I just focus on a simple goal like that, and once I have lost roughly 10lbs, I re-evaluate.
People store fat differently, it is almost impossible to say one guy is the same body fat % as another guy. I store fat, on my triceps, my lower back, and mid back, butt, and inner thighs. I'm lean up top, you'd assume I was lower than I really am, whereas a guy who holds fat mostly on his chest, stomach, arms, you would say he was higher. I'm going to try and push this notion that body fat % is irrelevant and it just breaks the spirit of many bros. Stop the body fat % and focus on small goals of weight loss. #deathtobf%
I don't have a twitter, so no idea wtf a hashtag is but thought it would be amusing.

You look like you need to talk to a shrink if you believe you are still fat. Stop focusing on body fat %, build some mass and be happy with YOURSELF, are you lifting to be a sexy beast for yourself, or are you lifting for other people? This is YOUR journey, focus on yourself and your goals. Seriously the fact that you felt the need to post another picture to try and argue that you are not x% is just sad, and I'm not saying you specifically are sad, I'm talking about the entire body fat % craze. You look great man, just stop focusing on this arbitrary number and kill it in the gym, kill it in the kitchen, kill it in the bed.
They aren't saying you are fat, they are saying you need to build muscle, that is why body fat % is irrelevant.Last edited by Junsuiakai; 08-22-2016 at 10:05 AM.
