Also, IMO, it's entirely possible that Kaine is playing an expectation game. He appeared to be your typical running mate, unassuming, self-depricating, but he had some moments during his speech I felt were flashes of brilliance. If he brings that to the debate, he could annihilate his opponent.

Still, at this point polls have value in basically three ways: They give campaigns an idea of where they are succeeding or failing, and how they need to shift resources around; They give the media a ton of data to dissect and wring their hands over; and it entertains those of us that like the horse race, which is what we have here. Trump is very strong in on the mind discussion, so he'll be able to hit her far harder.

The Democrats figured out Trump's weakness while the GOP could not (though Cruz was very, very close).

Basically, trigger him. He feels he has to respond to every single criticism against him. He's extremely thin skinned and he's a giant baby. The GOP never figured this out though Cruz flirted with this attack. The Democrats knew it and knew when to unleash it (at the convention), and their plan worked FLAWLESSLY.
