Matthews closest comparison is Kopitar i believe. 65-70 point 1st line center who plays a strong two way game, while having good size but is not overly physical. Not even close to Lindros.

People don't realize. Lindros was quite possibly the most dominant player the league has ever seen outside of his concussion issues. He had the skill of the top players in the league with the size of enforcers. He was amazing.

Kopitar is a good comparison too. But people need to realize Mathews is deceivingly big. He's a solid 220 lbs and just turned 19. He can be physical in his game too, he's not soft like JVR.

He's dominating like Lindros did during the 91 Canada Cup before Lindros even played a single NHL game.

AM has a much higher offensive ceiling and I think as soon as next year he will be the better offensive player to AK11.

Mike Modano would be the comparison to AM for me. Plays a complete game but is a tier above AK offensively.

Both are American studs drafted 1st OA, too. Sucks Matrhews is a leaf doe.

It's not about stats. After McDavid and Crosby he's been the best looking player in this tournament playing against nHL players. And, there is plenty of hitting in this tourney, u see the Rusia game vs NA?

Matthews is an NHL Ready #1 Center and he'll have an immediate impact like eichel and McDavid did last year. I think Matthews is going to be the better player over Eichel too.

Well. North America consists of USA, Canada, Mexico and many Caribbean islands. So the difference between the USA and NA is that the USA is a country and NA is a continent. The North American team in this regard is a team that consists of the best talent from NA that is below the age of 24 to create a larger talent pool.
