I usually run on the treadmill before i workout for 10 mins at a speed of 6 - 7 mph and after my workout i do another 10 mins to cool down, i eat 5 meals per day and i eat clean and make sure i get 1 gram of protein per pound of my bodyweight, i do this everyday. My question is, will my muscle be maintained once i eat clean, eat the right amount of protein and is it possible to stay lean and build muscle doing this?, i don't know if its too much cardio or not. Thanks

You wont lose muscle doing 20 minutes of cardio regardless of whether you eat protein or not. Not only are not burning any muscle, at that low amount you are probably no burning hardly any fat. The human body is designed to be active and doesnt go into shutdown cannibalize mode after less than 30 minutes of effort.

inevitably if you are in a caloric deficit and are losing weight, some of the weight lost will be muscle, but you can minimize this very easily by eating enough protein (1g/lb IMO is sufficient) but if you can you get in more protein if you want. And lifting heavy with enough intensity with enough frequency. However you will lose very little to no fat in a caloric surplus. You can take the middle road and eat at maintenance and possibly lose fat/gain muscle but it is very slow and IMO as a beginner you should look to either gain muscle or lose fat in distinct cycles.
