FIFA rankings mean nothing really. In terms of actually getting to a level where they can produce players and teams consistently like Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy, Spain, France, England, Portugal, Netherlands... Etc. The US would struggle to even qualify for the European championships for the next 20 or so years if given the opportunity.

because they'd rather play Baseball, Football, basketball and hockey over it. They love the tv god like lifestyle here in the US and if they make it big in soccer they will have to go to Europe. BRB gotta get up early to watch the game in Europe.

The US hasn't produced like those countries because from a young age our best athletes play other sports besides soccer. It's as simple as that.
Great soccer players are born not made. You can talk about our lack of development programs or tactics, the latter being especially overrated. Because often times young great players go to academies in European countries to develop anyway. Who knows how many great ones the US has produced that just grew up in the city playing basketball.
All those countries you listed have a culture of futbol. They don't have that dilemma. If hypothetically the US adopted that outlook tomorrow the US would eventually become world class. And it wouldn't take as long as you think.Last edited by CobyWan; 06-26-2016 at 11:00 AM.

There's no denying that the US would eventually become a powerhouse if they took their best athletes and forced them into the soccer culture. However, you'd be waiting very long time for the coaching and training to even get close to the level of the top nations in the sport. Athleticism certainly helps, but it is far from the most important trait needed to succeed in soccer.

The team would be all black, the team would be taller, instead of the average height being 5'10", the average height would be 6'4". You'd basically have the best athletes from all the sports playing. I'd image guys like Lebron, Steve Smith, Russell Westbrook. No hockey players or baseball players would make the team, except for maybe Yasiel Puig.

Not good because you think the average NFL player has the same mechanics needed to play football. And many Americans do play football, most of em are just retarded as fuk when it comes down to vision on the field, understanding the game.
Also women's football is a joke, don't come near me with that bs. The only country in the world taking that sport serious is the US. The rest of the world just enjoys the blooper reel those awful goalies provide and look at the occasional HBB.Permanent reminder that MBisonSon is a fgt => https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=181456073

Truthfully, they would be quite dominant I would think, certainly on par with the best international clubs.
That said, lmao at people on this forum who don't know physiology 101. Type 1 v Type 2 muscle fibre distributions. NFL players are blessed with fast-twitch muscle fibres, but it wouldn't translate to a sport that's about 50/50 aerobic/anaerobic demands. Not even mentioning the skills/creativity/awareness/foot-eye coordination required to play a completely different sport.

Joc Pedersen, thompson, Seager. There's a reason puig plays rf and not center.
Also in terms of all mlb players I'm 100% sure guys like dee gordon, Billy Hamilton and mookie Betts would be greathe soccer players"When it comes to matters of the heart always follow your dick"
