They were just normal colds and flues other than the pneumonia. Not like I was sick ALL of the time. But it did seem to take a little longer to get over it.
Have not been sick in the 4 years since I started the high C regiment. Just like my twin brother had his heart disease cured by C, our bodies genetically obviously needed more C than others to operate at peak efficiency.

Lolol those animals that don't get heart disease from eating an all meat diet are carnivores... Their bodies are adapted to eating this way and thus process cholesterol accordingly.
Give a rabbit a high cholesterol diet and see what happens. It's an herbivore. It will start to show signs of heart disease, regardless of vitamin c.

lets look at some research
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18997197
"Vitamins E and C in the prevention of cardiovascular disease in men: the Physicians' Health Study II randomized controlled trial."
Conclusion: "in this large, long-term trial of male physicians, neither vitaminE nor vitamin C supplement reduced the risk of major cardiovascular events. These data provide no support for the use of these supplements for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in middle-aged and older men"
2) American Cancer Society website:
"Many studies have shown a connection between eating foods rich in vitamin C, such as fruits and vegetables, and a reduced risk of cancer. On the other hand, evidence indicates that vitamin C supplements do not reduce cancer risk. This suggests that the activity of fruits and vegetables in preventing cancer is due to combination of many vitamins and other phytochemicals and not to vitamin C alone."
3) In general multivitamins haven't clinically shown any benefits EXCEPTION of DEVELOPING COUNTRIES where there is an abundance of nutritional deficiencies***Canadian Crew***

LOL. I have already stated that the medical industry as a whole is one giant money making scam. The last thing the doctors, pharmacists, drug companies, and hospitals want is something so simple as Vit C fixing so many of the problems they make $billions upon billions treating. Most of those studies are all done and paid for by the very entities making those $billions.

They clearly highlight the benefits of vitamins when taken through whole fruits and vegetables, and only highlighting that multivitamins (which is a billion dollar industry) do not work simply on their own in the form of pills. They aren't benefiting by recommending fruits and vegetables over multivitamins. Another thing to note is that that high doses of antioxidants have detrimental oxidative effects.

interesting article. Particularly the part where he points out that laboratory mice given doses in excess of 1-5 grams of vit. c had a much higher rate of squamous cell carcinomas (Skin cancer). brb prevents heart disease, inturn gets skin cancer. will give this high vitamin c thing a shot and see how i feel because i am awfully lethargic these days. will report in my log on this daily. link in sig for anyone interested in following allong. ordered 500 capsules of 1g vit-c will start taking 2-3 g a day.

Hey man with your experience, your brothers and things I've been hearing other people say here, I'm leaning heavily towards supplementing Vitamin C. Do you take this in tablet, chewables, drops, shots, etc? What's most effective? I probably won't start with 15g but thinking about atleast 6 and then increasing

This is the problem with a lot of people. They hear stories and just start superdosing everything. Do your own research. If someone says take tons of vitamin C because it worked for me, that doesn't mean you go and start taking 15g too. Educate yourself.
For example, I almost did this with vitamin d3 and zinc. But I took the time to research a little.
That's why I stick to 5000IU a day for d3, and 25mg (or half of a typical 50mg pil) of zinc. Absorption rate is around 50%, so 12.5mg of zinc is 1.5mg above the daily recommended. So it is HIGHLY unlikely to have an effect on copper balance.
So don't just go buy a bottle of zinc and start popping pills. These are typically for people who are quite deficient in these vitamins and minerals. So be weary.
Plus your body and things like size/weight can effect dosages too.

1000 mg C pills at CVS cost about $6-7 for a bottle 250. So about 3 cents a pill or .30 cents a day if I take 10 pills.
A dose of C-fit pre workout before working out and the BCAA after working out, for 6 grams of C total, costs about $1.25 a day total for a dose of BOTH products, not just one. But don't forget you are also getting a full pre workout containing the C and Lysine and Proline along with creatin, zinc, niacin, beta alanine, and other things, along with a full BCAA mix also with the Vit C and lysine and proline in it....for $1.5 a day for everything including the pills. Your full dose of C, lysine, proline, preworkout, and BCAA mix.
Pretty cheap to me.

I take some in regular pills I buy at CVS, and the other 6-7 grams (3 grams each) in www.c-fitlife.com pre workout and BCAA mix. Each has 3 grams of C in it and 2 grams of lysine. I like their stuff because I am getting the C and lysine basically for free in the pre workout and BCAA mix-which I buy anyway, and they also have the sodium ascorbate type of vit C, which is more easily absorbed then the C you buy in the pills....absorbic acid.

Awesome, thanks brah. Repped.
I don't understand the hate. If half the studies and experiences show crazy positive effects and half show no effects.. why wouldn't a person of average intelligence just try it and hope for the positive. Brb not spending a few bucks in a month to try Vit C but will buy $10 shots at a club. Just lmao.JP.MP.DT

Cool. A few months ago I was reading about Linus Pauling and how he thought the daily intake of Vitamin C should be raised to (correct me if I'm wrong) 3-10g daily. I was reading posts from people on a forum dedicated to Vitamin C. It might have been the Vitamin C Foundation, and some people claimed to take more than 50g of Vitamin C. An extreme dosage, but I might bump up my intake to maybe 8 grams. It's water soluble so anything in excess is extorted and it's half life is 3 hours, so I guess morning and evening would be best.
But, at first, I was taking Vitamin C mostly for acne. I may not have taken enough, but good thing Vitamin C is cheap. I use the NOW brand.

Believe it or not I see this hate A LOT. It really defies explanation. The people over 40 I talk to are very open to it. I think because they are approaching old age and death, so something like C really strikes home with them.
But for the people under the age of 25 or so? Especially the guys? It is like you are telling them to go kill their dog. Really an interesting study in human behavior.
