Bitcoin is SURGING. Already at 770......

    http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-pric...28-month-high/

The price of bitcoin broke $750 today, building on recent gains to hit a 28-month high.

Bitcoin prices reached $750.37 during the day's session, the highest since 7th February, 2014, CoinDesk USD Bitcoin Price Index (BPI) figures reveal. The digital currency exceeded its latest milestone of $750 after surpassing $700 early on 13th June, and then nearing $720 later that day.

tl;dr - China knows their economy is tanking and propped up by shady tactics that are unsustainable. instead of investing into the dollar and cutting into the profit margins of the crap they export to the rest of the planet, they are investing in bitcoin.

Too bad the days of personal mining is over.

Fuark I bought some to make purchases back when they were $230ish. Should've kept them.

Yeah there are ATMs in many cities around the world now, quite a few in my city. I just go downtown and cash out some spending money when I need it, or just go to stores that accept it

Ah cool, I play the market once and awhile, it's pretty volatile and never a dull movement. I don't straight up buy anymore though

If you do anything other than have BTC as a long term investment you are gambling but long term it will only go up. I have 20+ btc, and have held since 2013. 5-10 years from now it could be in the thousands.

I gave a presentation in college on BitCoin when it was pennies and it was about how they went up a few pennies and what an explosive return it was. If only my 20 year old self would have bought a few hundred dollars of them.

I'm planning to cash out ~1k. Either that or just keep it forever and see what happens for fun. Who knows, maybe these delusional fuks saying it'll be 10k+ end up right.

I am a bit tired of checking the price all the time though. Would be a nice relief to just get out.

When it dropped down over the past year or two I did think about buying more. I sort of knew another bubble was inevitable but you know what they say, never invest more than you can afford. Didn't feel like I could afford any more and didn't want the headache.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.
