PEScience – Select Protein – Cookies N’ Cream
First and foremost, I would like to thank Sponsored Athlete and Marketing Director for the European branch of PEScience, Ben Carpenter, for sending me this care package. Ben is an awesome individual and really knows his material regarding supplements, nutrition and training. We got talking all about protein powders, the manufacturing process behind it and how it aids recovery. After our chat, he sent me a few samples to try. Commonly, when supplement companies have a promo or send you free product, they ask for a review in return. Not here. Ben didn’t even mention the word “review” in our multiple conversations. Which, if you go to PEScience website, click on [difference] and then go to ‘no mass marketing’, they state the following:
“Rather than spending our money on mass marketing campaigns we put it into our ingredients, formulas, and quality control to ensure that we deliver you, the consumer, the best. We may not pay a superstar to say he takes our product...but we can at least say we put our money into making the best product for you.”
Ben demonstrated just that, and didn’t’ try to market the brand at all. Thus, in order to say my thanks to him and PEScience, I felt like a review would be the best way to do this. So let’s get to it.
For people who like the TLDR version, skip to the bottom to get the final verdict.
I have been buying supplements and some form of protein powder for the past 8 years. I have tried everything under the sun, from BSN to ON to MusclePharm to MuscleTech to Cellucor to Animal Whey…the list goes on and if you name a flavor from the line, I have probably tried it.
This is where PEScience Select Protein comes into play. A supplement company that I have been well aware of for a few years, but for some reason, never bought it. Spoiler: now having tried 4 flavors…I almost wanted to cry in a corner and remorse about how much I have been missing over the years.
However, this helps me paint a picture on why I believe PEScience just snuck into my #1 protein supplement in all 4 of the flavors I was so thankfully to try. Also having tried various other brand, I can compare it to them and really give a good rating based on my previous experiences.
This will help you as the reader get a perspective on what you may be missing out on as you take another sip of that protein shake from a different brand.
Now for the first review…Cookies N’ Cream.
When we think of Cookies N’ Cream, we think of Oreos. It’s a fact. Trust me. I googled this, so it must be true.
On a serious note, this PEScience Select Protein – Cookies N’ Cream tastes similar to that of an Oreo. Mainly speaking, if you were to take out the filling of about 10 Oreos, crush up one half of 1 cookie into the mixture and ate it straight, that’s how this protein powder tastes like. I mean, the cream filled center of a Oreo is the best part, so because of that, the overall taste gets a 10/10 easily.
Now what about consistency? Some protein powders are grainy or gritty when dry or mixed in liquid. That’s not the case here. This might sound weird, but I actually really enjoy sprinkling protein powder over various food products: from canned pumpkin, to greek yogurt, to oatmeal, to even cereal like Cinnamon Toast Crunch [CTC] (see below). I mean, who doesn’t love Cookies N’ Cream flavored CTC? That’s basically what happens when you sprinkle PEScience Protein – Cookies N’ Cream powder on top. Soooo good.
For the individuals who like to mix this in water or milk, you are in luck. This is probably the first protein powder I have been able to mix with straight water and not feel like I’m drinking diluted a$$. It tastes like a glass of sweetened milk when mixed with water and then a light Cookies N’ Cream flavored shake when mixed with milk (or almond milk).
So how do I rate it? 10/10.
One thing to note however, this is a very sweet protein powder. Now for me, I love sweet things and have a massive sweet tooth; thus I love this stuff.
Now onto the final part, smell. What happens when you crack open a new tub of this protein powder? Again I revert to the smell of an Oreo. The robust chocolate coupled with the elegant hint of vanilla makes you have a flash back of the time you sat down on the kitchen table and your mom brought you an ice-cold glass of milk with a few Oreos placed elegantly on a plate. Effortlessly a 10/10.
^Not My Pic^
So what is my final score you may ask? It easily becomes my #1 protein powder and acquires maybe my first 10/10 rating. PEScience Protein certainly knows how to elevate their flavors to send you on a nostalgia train back to your childhood of epicness. Being that the case I am eager to dive into the rest of them, so stay tuned for those reviews.
PS: I am currently in the process of buying 2x27 serving tubs of PESscience here at Bodybuilding.com (currently ON SALE), one Snickerdoodle and one Cookies N' Cream.

Hay Ben,
New flavors?! I would love to be able to test out some pre-samples of the new formulations coming out, that would be amazing! However, my wallet may not be happy after I keep pounding through this protein powder like it's going out of style and needing to restock! Haha.
And yes, loved the product.
I'll be tossing up more reviews in due time of the other three I have currently. Then once my Snickerdoodle arrives, will get something up for that as well.
Cheers!Blog:
