tbh I always thought tennis was a sport where the females were more popular than the men, like volleyball and gymnastics. Although I don't know the actual view count. Playing shorter sets shouldn't matter if they're drawing the same crowds, but again IDK the view count

To me, the point of watching sport is to watch the absolute best in the world. So I have never understood watching women play sports. For example tennis, why would you watch a game between the number 1000 and 1001? The difference is even bigger in soccer and basketball.
But same goes for sprinters. Great, you just won your gold medal with a time of 11seconds. That's not impressive at all. I really don't see the point of any of that....

How the hell does this happen? You'd think in a more skill based sport where pure strength/size isn't as much a requirement, they'd of done better. It wasn't like it was a female vs male national team.

What exactly is your point? A top level athlete is better at a sport than people who aren't top level athletes and don't even train for said sport? Wow what a revelation...
And male sprinters and middle distance runners are better than 100% of the population, so have no idea what you're trying to get at here.
Maybe they're good in school, regurgitating information that men pioneered.
But how many major breakthroughs, be it physics, chemistry, engineering, medicine etc have come from women? Almost none.

just lol @ female athletes wanting equal pay.
brb generating less revenue, wheres the money going to come from sloot?
brb not as difficult to make it professionally since # of female athletes is less than # of male athletes
brb limited by their female physical traits. HOLY CHIT 6'8 brittney griner (thats a man baby) dunked!
brb some sports, the females actually do less work than male counterparts. e.g. 3 sets vs 5 in tennis.
female athletes need to fuk off and stop letting their emotions blind them from reality. where is this money going to come from?

Not surprised. The US Olympic women's hockey team lost to a Minnesota public high school boys team 11-1 playing by women's rules without checking. The coach protested to the local paper and prevented the story from going public. My neighbors son played on the team and said they used a running clock after the first period ended 5-0. Such a joke.

Thing is though women sports is no different from things like weight grades in boxing, literally any heavyweight could kill mayweather but he still gets acclaim/money etc, he thrives in the sport because it has these physical limitations.
Women sports is no different to this and I find it completely fair for them to get acclaim and paid the same amount, obviously other things factor into pay like how many people actually watch it, but all other things being equal they're competing within their genders limitations just as hard as the men are.
If they talk **** about being able to beat men though they can go **** themselves.

No, women shouldn't "be able to earn as much in the same sports"...
They should be paid completely independent of the men's leagues. Whatever the market demands and whatever the players agree to in the CBA determines their pay. Its completely irrelevant if they get paid 1/100 of the men.Country Must Be Country-Wide CREW

LoL. I met my now cousin in law like 10 times. And always heard from everyone in the family how good she is at basketball. The family is always taking her to all her different games around the northeast. She's so fundamentally good. She's the team captain etc etc. she's 15/16 at the time. I'm just like oh cool, good for you. Then were at an uncles house one day I'm like let's go shoot around. Nothing serious. Holy hell at how many shots she missed. Form looked ok, nothing special. Played horse, recked her. Nothing serious but I could tell by the way she bounced the ball I could take it from her any second. Was so disappointed lol. I've only ever played recreationally, no formal training. Just pickup games with urban youths.
