So I am lactose intolerant. Switched to whey isolate in high hopes. Still going to the bathroom like Harry in Dumb and Dumber after drinking it.
Should I just give up on whey altogether and maybe try beef or vegan protein?

I am a big advocate of getting my protein from everyday food, and stay away from powders, but the problem is it's hard for me as is to hit 100 grams a day or hit a little bit over. I work full time with OT pretty much most of the year and go to the gym 4 days a week. I am always amazed when I see people say they actually eat 150-200 grams of protein a day.
This is the main reason I am trying the whey, so I can push that much more into my macros. How do people get anywhere near 200 grams a day and not take a steep hit on their wallet or time (cooking and all) for that matter.

If you are looking at a vegan protein one of the best is San Raw Fusion. The vanilla is one of the best I have had in a shake and has great numbers. For whole foods it's very easy to hit numbers with chicken, tuna and beef.
If you not feeling the burn your not pushing hard enough.

getting 150g of protein from food alone is easy once you make it a goal.

There is nothing that says you have to use protein powder. I rarely, if ever use them. Use whole food. If you're concerned about some the benefits of whey protein, just eat 2-3 hours before training then supplement with BCAA pre and intra workout.

OP, have you had this reaction to other isolates as well, or is this the first?
If it is the first, I would also suggest checking out other isolate proteins such as Iso-Smooth, Iso-100, or Impact Whey Isolate.
If this is a common reaction, then I'd suggest trying to maximize your protein intake from whole foods. Whey/Isolates are solely used to help one achieve their protein macros for the day. If you can do without, you are golden.Myprotein's Official Bodybuilding.com Lead Representative ✔
