Why is it that I got better gains from a ''Bro-Split?''

Hey guys I've been running high frequency routines for most of last year and part of this year. Two weeks ago I switched to a low frequency routine (muscle group once a week) and I've seen more gain in my lagging body parts like Chest, is it because with a split like that you hit the muscle from all angles as opposed to full body? (ex. Incline, Flat, Decline varations..) And Deadlifting once a week also brought it up by a lot more than when I was DL'ing 2x a week.

You didn't grow very much in 2 weeks. It's probably a pump or increased glycogen in your muscles so they look fuller

To your point though, you can grow with any split if you push yourself and it's at least somewhat decently constructed.

Which one is"best" will depend on a lot of factors.
    You can't help the hopeless.

Because bro splits are more efficient for some people. I never liked that full body crap, because Mike Chang ruined it for everyone

Compare the number of sets you're doing in a week on your bro split, compared to your high frequency routines, again, in a 1 week span of time. Odds are, you're doing more work over time with the split, hence the gainz.

I think if you try to compress too many bodyparts into one workout like a push day something gets neglected

I like my four day split

    chest/quads
    back/hams
    shoulders
    arms

probably best thing is to do fullbody like starting strength or SL that focus on compound movements to get more overall mass w/ accessory movements that bring up lagging body parts (for instance dips and pullups for arms)
