not to rain on his parade (as it is quite amazing) but people have been known to "heal" from believing in being cured, placebos; brb sugar pills and convictions outperforming pills costing MILLIONS to develop.
yeah Im aware, just a difficult concept to grasp how something could exist forever yet our existence was created by it now, as opposed to X quantities of Y later.
on another thought it having perfect knowledge of everything sorta makes everything exist at once in that entities mind (we might not have been made yet but just be gods knowledge of the future lol.)

Those "miracles" are lapses in our medical knowledge. This may shock you, but we have no idea why most medicine works
For example, we can fix eyes to a degree, but the eyes are viewed as a foreign object by the body and will constantly attack it instead of heal it. Why does the body do this? Doesn't matter, life goes on and doctors will still perform surgery on eyes despite no one knowing why it works and why the body does it. No one is funding enough money into figuring these things out
Over the past few decades, technology has advanced much faster than our knowledge of nature. It wasn't that long ago penicillin was this amazing discovery that saved us. Your misunderstanding is overestimating how far we've advanced over the last century, simply because of how advanced tech has become

This pretty much sums up my thoughts.
It is common for religious people to experience something which cannot be explained by conventional wisdom, and explain this something with something even more extraordinary, an all knowing, all seeing, all doing "god". This is a completely illogical and ridiculous leap, but one that is made frequently. Not being able to explain something in this exact moment, does not mean there is not a reasonably simple and logical explanation for something at all. This ties in perfectly with the medical examples given here.

If God is omniscient and omnipotent meaning he knows everything that has ever happened and everything that ever will happen. Then why did he have to flood the Earth and so he could have a do-over? How can someone who knows everything REGRET making humans if he should have saw it coming in the first place?
"Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7The LORD said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them."Last edited by TestosteroneTy; 05-11-2016 at 07:51 PM.

couple of questions that ive been unable to answer myself and curious how others feel.
1. why 2 different creation stories in genesis? The order is different. Seems like God would have made sure the scripture was the same for such an important book.
2. who did cain and seth marry? Did God create other humans and they married them?
3. where do cavemen come from?
4. why doesnt god send anymore prophets? Seems like they were abundant in biblical times.
5. seems like God can create peace on earth if he told the christians, muslims, and jews how he wanted to be worshipped and who is correct instead of letting two thousand years go by of senseless fighting and wars. they all believe they are the chosen ones. God could just poke his head out of the clouds and say "hey so and so is the correct religion"LOL @ people who follow politics

2. Lots of incest from cousins, or nieces/nephews. Adam had other sons and daughters which only Seth's name was mentioned. Having more than two wives was common.
4. Prophets are still around. People don't recognize them as prophets but rather criticize them for any mistake and discredit any prophecy they bring. In the old testament we see how prophets were used but also sinned. Even thought they sinned God still honored HIS word of prophecy.**Los Angeles Misc Crew**

The leadership order is Jesus->Man->Woman. Men wk their wives but also know they have the responsibility of being the household leader. Leading in all matters especially in spiritual matters. Women can lead but are also called to submit under the leadership of the husband. Men are called to serve and lead.

I understand Christians believe in the Bible as the word of God...but on whose authority is it that the collective scriptures are truly the word of God? Couldn't the Bible just be a group of "free e-books" written to obtain followers email information so that they can later sell them on products (for example, tithes to the church)? Is there not a conflict of interest in a group of men deciding that what another group of men wrote is or isn't the word of God?

What do you say to this?
Is that just a part of God's plan? If there truly is a God, and he allows this sort of bullshiit to happen, why would you want to spend your entire life worshiping him?How dare you!
Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.

This perspective is the worst that religion has to offer. The suggestion that we are somehow entitled to something better than this life. You, and the unfortunate and altruistic boy that suffered cancer, should consider every moment of this life a 'miracle' in its own right, and not diminish the value of this one life with by suggesting that we could somehow be entitled to more.
The shame in this, is that believers with this mindset really do not realize how incredibly unlikely and precious their life is. As a result, they waste it longing for some imaginary utopia.
Just obscene.

I do hope that there's more after death, a continuation of some kind, but as a logical person, someone who questions things, who's science driven, I personally do not understand you Bible/religion followers. Unfortunately science cannot answers a lot of questions, even if you believe in evolution, we can't explain how life and Universe were created, which makes it easier for a person to be turned towards religion. We, as species, are not evolved/knowledgeable enough to know all the answers, which sucks, but that's reality.
I'm not going to bother writing a novel, the truth is, majority of people are either unintelligent or have been brainwashed with religion and similar bs since they were kids, which basically means you're pointless to reason and argue with, just a lost cause. These argnostic/atheist people who laugh at men made religions should know dat feel. It's funny to us that you believe in something so stupid, something that's not logical. Following a book of total chit that makes no sense, but because you can't explain your existence, that's your only option (mmmkay?)
The reality is, we can't explain how we came to be, we don't know why or how, but what I know is neither can you.♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞♞
