brahs that play bball. Could you dribble the ball up half court in a real NBA game?

If you were given 10 tries, do you think you could dribble the ball to at least half court once with a man playing you close trying to take it? I'm not asking you to drive the ball all the way to the other basket and taking a shot, just get it to half court. No passing the ball either.

It's a meaningful game and the score is close with only 5 minutes left, so the man is playing you very close.

the Rockets probably have like 2 players who can do that reliably (Completely srs).
Its honestly pretty hard against maximum effort defense from your average guard.

With an entire court to work with 1 on 1? No way

It'd be more legitimate to struggle in a drill with like 8 feet on the side of court sectioned off to dribble up

I could do it easy, You don't even need to be a great ball handler, just strong and competent.

If it was a real 5 on 5 bball game and the other team knew a miscer was bringing the ball up the court, they would just trap him and take it easily. However, I'd be willing to bet there are some decent ball handlers on the misc that could probably make it up the court as long as they weren't trapped every time.

Not me though, I'm a terrible ball handler. I'd be willing to bet I could D up some of the scrub point guards on occasion though, and make some 3's if I don't have anyone guarding me.

Id easily anticipate the trap and pass the ball leading to an easy 2. The next 9 times they wouldn't try it and I'd walk up the court.

I think it really depends on the player guarding, but in 10 tries I'd like to think I'd be able to get a couple.
I have no doubt I'd be unsuccessful a few times, as well.

There's primary ball handlers in the NBA that will have a teammate bring the ball up because they have a guy like Avery Bradley harassing them up the court.

I play in a men's league with FIBA rules and real officials, and I can't even bring the ball up to half court if someone was full court pressing me. Granted, not a ball handler. But cant even imagine what NBA level would be like where the fastest guards checking you are stronger than the biggest guys in your rec league. No Thanks Jeff

Where I live at there are some games run with a mixture of former high school, college and NBA players. There are guys you see play that make you think, how the heck did this guy not play in the NBA? Then a former NBA player runs in a game, and embarrasses all of them. Unless you played D1, 0 out of 10.

I know it would be difficult, but you have big men like Howard, Duncan, Etc. that can dribble the ball with decent handles in a short spurt.

i would think an avg. bball player could get it across one or 2 times.

I wonder if you played 1/2 a game, 24 mins, how many Rebounds would you get ?

Me and 4 friends(2 were on our higschool basketball team) were phukin around in the gym shooting when 2 freshmen from i believe northern Illinois showed up(no clue why they were in tampa). We asked if they wanted to play 5 against 2.

We got absolutely wrecked. Then again we were all 16 & 17. But still. Absolutely obliterated by 2 friggin bench players on a sub par team

If an elite nba defender gave 100% into hawking me and not letting me get to half court it would be tough . However real game situation, they wouldnt be blowing all their wind to stop my dribble before half court.
