As I have previously stated, I can not be trusted to eat intuitively. I love food and booze wayyyyyy too much. I had every intention of staying remotely on track....
We started the day by driving past a bakery that just reopened for summer. We bought a buttermilk doughnut and two cookies. I had small bites of both cookies (about 1/8 of each) and then 1/4 of the doughnut. I was drinking my protein mocha and all was good!
We arrived in Sutter Creek, parked the car and started to walk around. We walked the whole town and then went wine and cheese tasting. I was still good. Then we were walking back to the hotel and stopped for an app and drink. I had wine because it was the best option. And we also ordered these brussels with bacon (hey, they're a vegetable, right? Paleo, keto, fiber, etc.)
We went to a second location to wine taste and then headed into a shop/tap house called Provisions where hubby made a new friend. I was drinking cider, and had two By now I'm pretty tipsy. It was probably around 8pm and we hadn't had dinner. Pizza to the rescue? Hubby ordered a huge beer, so I had to help him.
We got the pizza to go (a small fortunately) and took it back to our room. That was the best damn pizza. The crust was amazeballs! House made sourdough crust - crunchy and chewy.

The next morning, our B&B left warm lemon scones outside of our door.
And of course breakfast was included in the room. The restaurant was terrific! The menu was great and unique and it was really hard to decide. Especially since I should have been eating a veggie omelette LOL We ended up with the chilaquiles and the cornbreakd waffle topped with pulled pork. I was absolutely thinking of Phoenix and 15thDoctor when we ordered that one!
Hubby got the bacon, and I was still trying to be somewhat good so I ordered the fruit bowl.... boring, I know!
I did get a gin cocktail and hubby got the bloody. Hey' we were on vacation!
We went to taste some cider right after that.

Then we started driving to SacTown, stopping on the way in Amador city.
And then in Dry Town. They ferment cider there, but don't sell it or do tastings That being said, we got treated well at Dry Town Cellars, and got a barrel tasting in addition to the regular tasting.
Once we got to Sacramento, it was time for BBQ.

The next day we walked around the Capital. Saw the Vietnam War Memorial and the Firefighter Memorial.
Walked to the Sacramento river and Old Town, and then on our way back we shared a Banh Mi and a Kogi shortrib taco.
Nothing else was especially special, aside from my brother graduating high school! So proud of that kid.
Anyway, I'm back! I had to work today so we got like 4 hours of sleep and I am a mess, so I don't think I'm going to the gym today. That feels like the opposite of what I should be doing since I blew it on vacay. Hopefully the damage isn't too bad, we did share everything! I'll get to the gym tomorrow and I won't weigh myself until Tuesday. I was thinking though, this is the rest of my life. Is 2 or 3 pounds now going to really make a difference as long as I get back on that horse? No way. Totally worth it. And this is another reason I won't likely be competing!Team Ogre Mascot

Hey Anandagirl, perusing your log - subbed! Nice vacation food pics up there.
I see you're listing steps per day, so I assume you're wearing the fitbit? I have one too, and yeah I saw you mention the cals are overestimated which they definitely are. What I do to give some room for error is I subtract 10% from what it tells me and then I eat around up to that amount. Seems to work, after the cut have been maintaining wt easy following that method.

Thanks for stopping in!
Thank goodness I have food pics because I don't have weight loss! LOL
Hey Hammy! Thanks for stopping in! Yep, I have a Fitbit. I've been paying a little attention to the calories, but only generally on a weekly basis to compare to my calories in versus weight loss. I pretty much just use the steps as a gauge on how much of a lazy ass I've been during the day I try to at least hit 10K most days, and my goal is 12K. Great tip on taking off 10%! I was syncing it with MFP but it was really easy for me to overeat there. In fact, it's really easy for me to overeat regardless!Team Ogre Mascot

Ok, last lazy day allowed. Seriously, I'm either on a good streak or a bad streak! I let hubs talk me into a pizza last night because we didn't really have anything in the house for dinner and it's a holiday weekend which means our one grocery store would be packed to the gills with lines to the meat counter. That being said, I probably ate about maintenance so not terrible.
It was also pouring rain yesterday in addition to me being exhausted, so I used that as an excuse to sit on the couch. I better get over being wet if I'm going to get my steps daily, I have a feeling this will be the summer of thunderstorms.
I got almost 9 hours of sleep last night, and I brought my new PWO and my gym clothes so I am hitting the iron right after work! No excuses The good streak starts here!Team Ogre Mascot

We just had a wicked thunderstorm here that I swore was gonna blow the house over. As for the activity, if you're watching a bunch of netflix or something you can make a habit of between episodes getting up and running around your house and up and down the stairs, srs. I do this all the time simply because it feels like my brain is gonna explode if I'm sitting still for too long, I'm like a puppy jacked up on PWO 24/7 apparently. Anyways when you proceed to run laps around the house and attack the stairs you gotta yell RARRWWW as you're doing it, it works a lot better, srs.
Have fun at the gym!Current PRs:

Workout: NROL4W Stage 4, Workout A, dog walk
Today I got to try out my new PWO, Velocity Ultra, as I was chosen to receive a tub from Neogenix! Despite getting almost 9 hours of sleep, I was still really tired yesterday, so I snuck about 1/4 of the scoop during the day to try to wake up.
Was reading some of the reviews on it, and I laughed when someone was freaking out about the 350 mg of caffeine. I compared that to a Grande drip from Starbucks which is 330 mg. I'm no stim junkie, but come on! People are crazy.
Drank it about 30 minutes before my workout. I didn't notice any crazy effects from it, but I was also coming off being super can't-keep-my-eyes-open tired day at work, so the fact that I made it through the workout at all is probably amazing. I want to give it a few workouts and a week before I review it, so hopefully the Neogenix guys can be patient!
I did drink it at 3:15 pm and worked out at 3:45 pm, and was sufficiently tired at bedtime, so I don't think it overstimmed me in the afternoon (or I was just ridiculously tired) but I'll likely be saving it for am workouts.
Anyway, here's the work - NROL4W, Stage 4, Workout A:
Warmup
5 minutes on the dreadmill, foam rolling, stretching, arm circles
Front Squat to Push Press
55 x 8 (video)
55 x 7
55 x 8
Back squat
95 x 5 (video)
Back squats aren't in the program but I wanted to film one set because I'm ready for the criticism
Dumbell Step Ups
20 x 10
22.5 x 8
22.5 x 5
Step ups on the bench always feel so damn hard. The difference of the extra 3 inches or so seems like a mile.
One Leg Bent Over Dumbell Rows
20 x 8
22.5 x 8
22.5 x 8
Static Lunge with rear foot elevated
35 x 8
35 x 8
35 x 8
Pushups
BW x 5
BW x 5
BW x 4
I was doing pushups on my knees but I'm starting to do them on my toes. I'm sure my form sucks and I know my depth is like a Bro doing a 4 inch squat.
Plank
1 x 40 sec
1 x 30 sec
1 x 30 sec
I need to do something about my ab work. I hate planks and can never seem to hold them that long, but I don't get DOMS in my abs. I probably need someone to yell at me or point a gun at me or something.
Horizontal Wood Chop
50 x 8
50 x 8
50 x 8
15 minutes of HIIT
FSPP 55 x 8
Back Squat 95 x 5
And now everyone can see my lumpy butt, my gut and my assorted chins when I make my squat face.... Putting myself out there, lay it on me. I know I need different shoes, maybe next time I should film it in my chucks. I probably should be dragging the box over to the squat rack too...Last edited by anandagirl; 05-30-2016 at 09:07 AM.

I never realized I made that face. Videos, giving us a dose of reality. It's funny - I feel like it's easier to get lower on higher weight squats but since I just started videoing, I guess I don't really know. Since squats aren't really in the program for a while, I'll focus on lighter weight goblet squats now after every workout. I'll make sure to pack the chucks too because I know my old running shoes aren't doing me any favors.

Ok, just saw this blog post: http://propanefitness.com/5-tips-for...1-the-warm-up/
The squat sit warm up - I can't really find a comfortable spot without going up on my toes or falling backwards. What the heck does that mean? Calf/ankle flexibility issues? I even foam rolled the heck out of my calves last night.Team Ogre Mascot

It looks like you get up on your toes to get the bar off the rack. I would bring the pegs down one. It's better to have to bend down to the bar than to get on your toes. As the weights get heavier, you'll want to be able to unrack with flat feet.
I can't see your feet in the video, but if you're squatting at shoulder width, you can try taking a step out on each side and turning your feet slightly outwards.
If it is a mobility problem, then this may help.
Also, make sure you're entire upper back is tight. I grip the bar hard and kind of dig my traps into the bar.You can't help the hopeless.

Thank you! You're right. I did set the pegs like one too high there. I'll make sure we can see feet in the next vid. And I'll be watching the video too. And will try to remember to pull the bar into my back more. So much to remember! I appreciate you looking and giving your $0.02

Nice workout OP, tons of volume! Squat vids - why did you take the safety bars out of the rack? I fail reps all the friggin' time so that's something that sticks out to me when I see people lifting. Also for depth/flexibility I say this 10x a week and people are probably sick of it but here it is - do the frog squat stance! (No idea if that's the same thing as "squat sit warmup" which I see somebody mentioned.) Be a frog and sit in the bottom position of the squat and hold it, work up to 10min collectively in a day, and squats will get way easier, srs. When I started doing that I could hold those for like 30 sec at a time and it was difficult, keep doing it for months and you will see a big improvement.

Frog stance like Hammie said is awesome, I do it daily I also find I can hit better depth if my feet are out a bit wider than shoulders.

LOL I look all kinds of ugly! And I have about 10,000 chins
It's hard, but less hard when I'm hopped up on caffeine
Haha thanks! I feel like my workouts are wimpy compared to you and other girls here I'm lazy, I didn't take the safety bars off, but they weren't there and I didn't bother replacing them since I wouldn't be anywhere near my max. Bad I know. I need to be better about making sure everything is set up right I watched some videos and have been doing some additional stretches as well as the frog squat stance - last time I tried it, I couldn't even hold it, kept falling backwards, but today I could. Yay! And squats look better for sure
This is the anomaly most of the time my good food it cut friendly. Last week was certainly an exception... and I have three extra pounds to show for it!
Thanks Luna!
Thanks Turkey!
