We've seen this team and others have that mentality and overlook opponents they should crush time and time again.

They should be confident yes. But my point was the team thinking as good as they are they can show up and not give their full effort and beat the so called lesser teams.

I still think we went into Cleveland with that mindset and it spiraled. I recall the announcers talking about Shanahan hoping for a close game because he wanted them to have some adversity. Doubt he got what he wanted though.

Warner's comments after this win also referenced learning their lesson. Hopefully they really did but human nature gets us all. These guys know what they're capable of but if they're going into a game with a team they're expected to smoke...will they bring their best or assume they can give 80% and still win?

Need every game from this point on if we want the bye week and we still may not get it cuz the Lions have a cupcake schedule.

I would much rather be a "sleeper" team than hyped because of the obvious pattern that i have observed over time.
And yes, the injuries that we suffer every year are a big time factor.

Healthy talent, consistent performance, and execution are great on paper.
For me Brock is the X factor, and we will see how he performs against Tampa Bay.
The Buffalo Bills have talent too.....

That Tampa defense gives up A LOT of yards fwiw (rank 24th in the league). This isn't the same defense that won the SB a few years ago........

They are still are top 10 in points for defense, so somewhat bend but don't break.

I think it's funny that CMC says that Brock's haters just make him play better. I don't know why he has so many critics who say he's only doing well because he has a stacked offense.

Trent Williams said something about it's like they hit the Powerball Lottery with him being Mr. Irrelavant and I really think Trent's right.

I just pray Brock stays healthy. The Niners have been up and down with QBs since Jeff Garcia.

We really have a stacked team this year so it would be a shame if they didn't make it to the Super Bowl. But, that usually comes down to injuries.

That's true about the Redskins. I know everyone on here gives me chit about my meltdown with the Eagles last season. I really thought we would go to the Super Bowl.

I'm a newer Niner fan. I mean I remember the Montana/Young era but didn't really get into the Niners until 2019 and obviously I was excited about the Super Bowl run but last year was the first time I actually attended games and really went over the top in terms of being a fan and learning the names. I'm also learning about football and it's really complicated!

Although when I think about it, tennis is really complicated with all of our different shots and spins!
