    Question Muscle recovery

I was reading Greg plitts 12 laws to fat loss or something like that and he recommended not eating carbs before bed so your body will use fat as energy to rebuild your muscles instead of carbs........?

So now I question whether glycogen is necessary for protein synthesis or is glycogen simply used as energy and protein is the only thing used in protein synthesis?

Don't read any articles from "popular" bodybuilder, fitness gurus etc. it's 99% of the time total crap and doesn't count for non-enhanced people.

Carbs before bed does not matter and it is not necessary for protein synthesis (carb+protein causes a massive spike, but so does protein alone).

And your body doesn't use fat to rebuild muscles, it uses protein hence it's called MPS (muscle protein synthesis)
My story going from obese to fit while battling daily chronic headaches:

Your body will store carbs in your muscles in the form of glycogen allowing better performance. There is a reason why all top level athletes eats high carb diets.

I had to go look this one up. It's a real shame this kind of crap gets published here.
