Why do must service professions not get tipped then. Servers are guaranteed min wage, and even in states where min wage has gone up to 15 they still expect a tip.
Why are restaurants workers so retarded that they don't actually blame their boss for the low pay (who directly pays them) but blames the customer. Every other professional people would be saying greedy company, cheap company, your employees deserve a living wage.
Now if you believe good service deserves a tip, then I would expect you tip your doctor, surgeon, teacher, lecturer, else you're just cheap!

lol what? how do you think ANY business makes money? customers... customers subsidize 100% of any companies payroll if they sell goods and services to the public... its not like theyre ****ting payroll at the end of the money... where the hell do you think that cash comes from anywhere you shop? get rid of tipping, prices go up to compensate, and guess who pays for that? the ONLY person who pays for anything, the customer

I was good friends with a black dude a few years ago. Sadly he did not tip anyone for anything. I still remember how he took me to a barbershop he frequented and I could see the look of dread on the barbers faces lol...I soon figured out why. He did not tip anything and told me he never has in all the years he has been going. When I asked him why he got all defensive so I just left it alone lol. If he ordered delivery they were not getting a tip. Go out to eat? no tip no matter how good the service was.
This is obviously only one guy so take it with a grain of salt.

agree 100%. just another scam on the common folk. srs
The "dude, waiters make $2 per hour" thing is TRUE but it's true because restaurants know they can get away with making suckers tip 20% and essentially pay the staff for them. It's ****ing retarded.
I've been outside of the US for 7 months now living abroad and now when I leave a tip it's cause service was GREAT.
And guess what? It's actually appreciated, since it's not ****ing mandatory.
A restaurant stayed open late for me and a girl yesterday so I tipped them like 25% extra and they were shocked.

Also this totally illustrates why we can't get rid of real problems in government and society.. corruption, bull**** laws that make no sense, etc.
We cannot even get the tipping thing fixed. Restaurants don't pay waiters because we tip, so we have to tip, so they can keep not paying. It's impossible to fix as an average person. and it goes on forever. Not to get all political but it's interesting to think about. We cannot even change something as small as how restaurant staff are paid.
Imagine trying to change how our government handles money, etc.

Tipping does make sense. People work harder and are rewarded for their effort.
People who suck, make less money.
If everyone makes the same, then there is no reward for effort.
Just like sales, rewarded for effort. It's how it should he. Unlike all you millennials who think they deserve $100k out of college and then won't tip. Douchebags everywhere."I don't say goodbye until the pain says hello. That's how you know the set is done." -Greg Plitt

I Manage a Restaurant...so unless you work in the food industry.. you have no argument as to how hard or easy the job of a server is. Some restaurants or occasionally some nights it may be easy and slow. But in general, the job isn't insanely hard, its the general attitude of most customers and the clear lack of respect and consideration that make the job difficult and time consuming. Working in Law Enforcement for a brief time I can honestly say you need more patience working in a restaurant.
But its funny, the people that are cheap or don't Tip, usually are anti-social cucks. I would say 9/10 of people who are extremely cheap with tipping are pretty ****ing brain dead and can't even verbalize what their ****ing order is or even listen to when the waiter repeats it back to them. Ironically the customers who bitch constantly and complain about food in attempts to get free **** every time they come in, Tip pretty well.★★★ I was part of the Ultra 2013 Thread Crew ★★★
