Like everyone has already said if I'm squatting its a half way pull through ponytail/bun thing so my hair doesn't get stuck in the bar... Other than that it's a ponytail...

Hey all! My hair is pulled up in a messy "bun" - sometimes I don't think it's even a bun - it's more the pineapple look. The feeling of my hair on my neck while working out really bugs me so I have to pull it up . It's either with an elastic or a claw clip if I can fit it all in lol.

I just tangle it up into some sort of bun on top of my head so that it all stays... then spend half an hour unwrapping & de-tangling it when I get home lol.
It's waist-length when it's down atm so if I put it in a pony tail it still touches my back & I don't like that. It's really thick & heavy so if I have it up at all for too long my scalp starts to hurt.Running, hiking, pole dancing, horse riding, muay thai boxing, plant-powered pocket rocket ☼

My hair is super thick and down past my butt. It's long enough that the last time it was in a pony tail it got caught on someone ELSE'S workout when I was walking by. (Oops. Luckily the guy stopped. I was so embarrassed. LOL.)
I do a French braid then wrap the French braid into a bun...but if I am doing anything where I am leaning the back of my head against something bun comes down and it's just the French braid.
I would cut my hair but in a few months it's back at the same length again. I also can't tell you how many times I have had the hair ties snap and go shooting off into the distance. I need 2-3 to keep my hair contained and up. I'm an LVT...hair needs to be up to be out of the body fluids I work with! Most of the time low pig-tales. Sometimes if I know I'll be working out for awhile or in-between sets I'll braid them. For me it's the best way to keep it easily out of my face and out of the way.And it's super easy. If I do need to do a bun I'll do a two part pony tale with the top half on one tie and then the bottom and the top in the bun.
And if I'm doing fighting then take that last one up a stage, do a two level pony tale, then a messy wrap bun. Stuff kicking off if that happens.

Asian hair is thick and straight and silky, so you can pull it into a nice ballerina type bun pretty easily. It's absolutely hopeless for anything other than tying back or laying straight, though. It won't hold a curl or any kind of style for more than an hour unless you get a perm (which is what I did, because I was so desperate for body) or douse it in 1950's hairspray. If you want to do the sleek low-neck bun, look into the stretchy nylon hairnets that equestrians and dancers wear. That's what I use when I'm at work. Keeps my hair neat and they're invisible once you put them on. If you style your bun when your hair is damp, it will look neater, also.
Anyway, when I'm working out I braid on one side towards the front. That keeps it away from the bar. I had a ponytail bar-yank once and I learned my lesson. Hats are good for keeping my baby hairs away from my forehead and neck. I can't deal with that wispy touch feeling when I'm sweaty.
