Vancouver and Victoria, BC. Boring, cliquey, liberal chitholes. Full of hipsters and feminists with purple hair and combat boots, rains 9 months a year, geezers everywhere, durka durka and ching chong in Vancouver, overpriced as hell, bad traffic, dbags, unfriendly as can be.
Beautiful nature, but that doesn't make up for everything else, chit culture and chit people. Fuking hate liberal cities and I used to consider myself liberal.

I expect NYC and Chicago to be crowded. I've lived in massive cities before and I'm not a fan.
Denver is a mess compared to what it used to be, and the housing is getting stupid expensive for **** houses.
I'm mostly butt hurt over the I70 traffic and being to poor to live in Frisco tho. HaStarting Weight 215, 25% BF

I have an offer to relocate to NYC. The office is in mid town and I have been researching housing nearby and I don't think I can afford living there. It is pretty insane. I realized that it will expensive before looking around but it is borderline absurd. How do the middle class even afford to live there?

I want to be close to work. I hate long commutes. Did it for years and I can't stand doing it anymore. I will keep looking around but if I can't find an affordable place near midtown I will probably just decline the offer. Gonna go and visit for a few days just to scope out the area. I was in NYC a few years back during a layover and did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I still have an open mind though.

Just got back from a 3 day trip in San Fran.
The hills were ridiculous, homeless people everywhere, the price of living(just fuking lol), it's cold af and in general, just too many people. And the fuking traffic! Jesus! I didn't even know traffic could be that bad. Sitting on one road for 1 hour+?! It was 8:30pm! The city wasn't even really nice. It was borderline grimy.
I don't see the appeal of big cities. Maybe for vacation but to live? No thanks. San Francisco can fuk right off."Remember me as you pass by. As you are now, so once was I. As I am now, so you must be. Prepare for death and follow me."
"To follow you I'm not content, until I know which way you went"
"You may delay, but time will not. As if you could kill time without injuring eternity."

Check edit brah, and no not if you can't afford it. There's plenty of spots in other boroughs that are relatively close that you'll get a much better deal and you'll also be able to chill in manhattan however often as you'd like, for after work happy hours, partying etc. That's why there's trains/buses going everywhere 24/7.

Some good areas to live in (or that I wouldn't mind living in) are
Queens: Astoria, Woodside, Elmhurst, Rego Park, Forest Hills, Woodhaven
All of these areas are mixed demographics (Asian, Hispanic, Indian, white etc...) but they are not dangerous at all, and you can find a nice spacious studio for a relatively low price.
Even though I'm from Brooklyn, I don't travel around there. I like Queens much better.
Bensonhurst, Sheepshead Bay, Bay Ridge, Park Slope, Midwood, Gravesend are all nice places. Right by the Brooklyn Bridge is where all the Hipsters live, so if that's your thing, places like Williamsburg and Bushwick are where you want to look. The further East you go in Brooklyn, is generally the worse it gets so be careful. STAY AWAY from Bedstuy, Brownsville, East New York, and Crown Heights.
Hope this helpsKeep the srs tag sacred crew
