Andre did have that larger than life image, charisma and was the GOAT international wrestling attraction. Without him there'd be none of this today.

Big Show is superior to Andre in-ring. Like Dean Malenko is superior to Hogan from a pure wrestling standpoint. But Hogan is far better a wrestler than Malenko, because the drawing power. Andre is a far better wrestler than Big Show when you look at the bigger picture.

I'd agree with most of that. Big Show is probably a better promo and has more acting range. Plus, he's better in ring as you said. But his booking was definitely inferior, and he couldn't work in an era where he could be a special attraction disappearing and re-appearing and imposing himself. Hogan had a better look, charisma, drawing power, and promo skills than Malenko. Andre was better than Big Show in maybe only 1-2 of those.

This has to have been the first time Fandango has been on Fandango in 9 months. Jericho gotta get that WM win back, but he should've.

Have you ever hear of OSW (Old School Wrestling) Review? They're 3 Irish guys that do video reviews of old school wrestling, starting with the Hogan era in the 80's. Very insightful and absolutely hilarious. They're doing the Dungeon of Doom storyline next. I cannot recommend them enough.



They've previously done Halloween Havoc 95. One of their best.

Damn right! I've been on that for at least 2 years now. I'm pumped for the upcoming reviews of the dungeon of doom era: Starrcade 1994, fall brawl 1995, world war 3 1995, superbrawl 1996, and uncensored 1996.


If you don't mind long podcasts reviewing old PPVs, I'd definitely also recommend The Lapsed Fan. They're going through Starrcades chronologically currently are about to hit 1996. They've done numerous bad WCW shows already: Starrcade 1994, World War 3 1995, Uncensored 1996, etc. They've got around 76 episodes currently, including all the Wrestlemanias (which they did chronologically back to back and got Meltzer interviews for. They also got Meltzer for the Starrcade reviews.)

I don't have much interest in the match either, particularly if it's going to be a bad pro wrestling attempt at a MMA fight from two old guys, one of whom isn't a longtime wrestler. But I've still got some interest in the outcome because of it's possible implications. It's lessened week by week. But WWE hasn't gone full on Bret vs. Vince and killed me on it yet. That intrigue has to be what WWE is counting on, especially for casual fans.

So much for rules, seems like Zack Ryder clearly won by DQ there. Nobody else got attacked by outside interference until after the bell. I guess that's WWE trolling smarks who you know...actually value rules and consistency.

edit: confirmation of what I thought when watching that opening on DVR. Strong ****ing tweener build to WM main event. Reigns seeming a bit heelish to the women's rights fans--don't care that Steph is a kunt--with his demeanor and silencing Steph, and Steph being a face by not letting the opportuntist KO get his way and putting him into a match where the odds, in theory, are stacked against. WWE...you better have the nuts to do the heel turn you're teasing for Reigns, but right now I don't buy it. Too much Super Cena fake builds and obvious prior opportunities for Reigns.
