How often do you max out?

Just interested to hear how often folks max out on the big 3 lifts (bench, squat, deadlift) and why or why not? I recently joined a powerlifting club and am on week 3 of a their 12 week program. I'm doing:

    Monday
    Lowbar squats wide stance
    Medium grip bench with stop
    Stiff leg deadlifts.

    Wednesday
    Highbar squats with stop.
    Bench with stop
    Deadlifts

    Friday
    Lowbar squats
    Close grip bench
    Deficit deadlifts

On all days I do weighted hyperextensions, abs and there are a other accessories spread through the 3 days. Push ups, biceps, barbell rows, barbell shoulder press, triceps.

The starting weights were calculated from my 1RMs and increase evey week. At week 11 I do a deload week before going for my set goals for the program (maxing out) at week 12. Then it's reset all the base numbers and repeat for another 12 weeks.

So... I only max out every 3 months.
Anybody can workout for an hour but controlling what you eat the next 23 hours is the real task.

Typically I max out about once every six months

I really prefer to use a 3 rep max and Ill do that about every six weeks.

This. Mine are usually at a meet. The planned max days are OK but once in a while the right vibe, the right group, the right spotter or whatever will inspire me to do a spontaneous attempt, and those are more fun TBH.

I do a max every 4th body part workout....maybe once a month for each body part. Sometimes more often and sometimes less often.

I'm on a 13 week powerlifting style programme. Every fourth week, you do a max reps at a set percentage, as a fresh set. Other weeks, it's once a week, but on the last set of the exercise, so in a fatigued state. Week 13 is supposed to be 1 rep maxes, but I'm undecided on whether to do that, or max reps at what I think will be a three rep max weight. Three weeks to go to decide anyway.

It would depend on your training cycle.
Usually can be from 6 to 12 weeks or more and at the end of most have a session to test your 1 RM strength.
Remember also it's good mohave other rep maxes 2-3-5 ect. Which would mean you don't always have to go for a single.
