A gen surg friend of mine was hitting 120's / wk post duty hr restrictions. "Home call". Think this week is going to be my longest of intern year so far and I'm only going to be around 90, averaging a little under 80. Easily sustainable, but idk how 50% more work could possibly be. Soooooo is it really a bad idea to get with classmates?
Me and my brahs (we all went to our med school's undergrad and were brahs before matriculating) pretty much unanimously agreed that it's a bad idea. Nurses and other health professions and seniors in undergrad are alright, and M1s when we're M3s.
Class of 154, but we have a lot of small group based work and it's not a big city or campus either
There's a few decent looking girls but none that I actually really want to get with (as of right now)Denver Broncos | Paul George | FC Barcelona | Creighton Bluejays

Not a bad idea at all if you're an adult. If you hook up on the side, keep it professional at school, then you won't have a problem. What happens is that immature kids start doing the hooking up then no contact because they're retarded, and then awkwardness ensues and then you have a potentially fukked up situation for the next 4 years.
With that said, I'd run through classmates, dental students, pharmacy students, law students and nursing students. This way you'll have a huge network to pull from
TLDR; slay like a boss and keep it cool/classy. Even if you don't have feelings for her, end it respectfully and you won't have a problem

Just pick wisely.
There's a girl in my class who has a BF back in her home town. She tried hooking up with me after a block exam and I respectfully turned her down as I do not enable cheating. Now she's spreading rumors that I'm a homo. srs.
Don't forget Vet students.
Nursing students are meh. They are way too easy and they have this ego thing where they will ALWAYS try to compare workload.SwiftRick is a fictional character

Struggling a bit with understanding why the T wave of an ECG isn't shown as inverted, is it something I should put a lot of effort into understanding? I understand the rest of it e.g electrolyte changes at each stage, what each wave means etc
edit: Think I may have worked it out, is it because repolarization occurs in the same direction as the intial depolarization?Last edited by matw; 08-09-2016 at 05:01 AM.

How many pairs of scrubs did you brahs use for anatomy lab? I rented a pair from the school for 5 bucks. I only do laundry once a week and I definitely don't want that sh*t to ruin the rest of my clothes.
Should I just load up on cheap as fuk scrubs?Denver Broncos | Paul George | FC Barcelona | Creighton Bluejays

Pretty sure I had 2 pair during first year. Just cycled through them, washed 1x/week. As long as you don't get twat blood on them and keep them away from your other clothes, you're good. Oh yeah and keep the farts to a minimum, you never know when you might get nicknamed shartbrah
3rd year, I honestly kept every single one of my scrubs the hospital gave me. In addition to that, Id use those OR long-sleeved jackets and return them instead, and BOOM, new pair of scrubs (come the fuk at me)

couple things to note:
1. you're an intern/pgy2/pgywhatever.. they've been nurses for 4-5+ years. you're not the first doctor they've banged.
2. instead of drawing labs, giving antibiotics at the right time, or while your patient is developing a sacral decub, they're on the prowl. ****ing let them do their job. no hugs on the clock.
3. they aren't your friends. the friendlier you are with a nurse, the more they'll page you for stupid ****, and when it comes to work, they'll throw you under the bus the second they get.
f*cking wake up.. too many of my friends are "the residents that bang nurses."haiku

idk potato school is potato. when we went to pick up anatomy materials it said scrub rental $5, lab coat rental $5 (no one got a lab coat).
now that i think about it i guess we just bought a pair of scrubs for 5 bucks. no way they'll track us down to return it / charge us more for not returning it. mine definitely look used (but smell fine though)Denver Broncos | Paul George | FC Barcelona | Creighton Bluejays

Positive deflection is positive charge moving towards positive electrode. In repolarization you (essentially) have 'negative charge moving away from the positive electrode'. if positive towards positive is a positive deflection, then negative charge towards negative electrode is also a positive deflection. It's double negatives.

While studying today after a 2 1/2 hr long research lab meeting, I realized that I really want to fukn do this. Of course I always wanted to do it bc I wouldn't have gotten in to med school if I didn't.
But this was like a new and improved and even stronger hunger. I really want to push myself and study and fukn ace Step 1 and fukn do awesome squamous cell carcinoma (skin cancer) research and match into Derm.
I've always been one that coasted through school, even through undergrad with one of the most difficult courseloads possible in the university (still coasted, relatively). But now I'm ridiculously motivated to study, even though it kills me that I can't be hanging out with friends any day any time like I've been so accustomed to in the past 2 years
... Taking bets on how long this hunger/desire lasts. Winner gets some paypal beer money. I'm actually concerned I might burn out bc I feel like I'm gunning pretty hard even though I know how to balance myself and whatnot. Doing research during M1 year might do me inDenver Broncos | Paul George | FC Barcelona | Creighton Bluejays
