Jesus. Mirin Hard. Why are you taking it in the Winter?
At this point, I would just identify and focus on your weakest-systems/subjects. Then do QBank quesitons until your eyes begin to bleed.
Lmao, this. If you can make eye contact, and hold conversation, you're already in the top 1% of pre-med interviewees.

Sounds like I'm being overkill and will chill LOL. I just started studying for step on day 1 of medical school and have pass/fail classes so I've been able to be productive.
Also still have managed tons of free time and sex so I'm not burned out at all.
Our school takes USMLE in February/March because they want us to have longer clinical rotations and more clinical experience.

Is it? From the outside looking in it seemed valid to me. Studying non-stop, likely being away from family & friends, and the higher burnout numbers among single medical students.
Sounds rough tbh. And as someone who already had a rough time in my 20's, it scares me to think about spending my 30's like that.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

Lol this place is still around? Damn, I used to dick around on the Misc instead of doing...whatever I was supposed to be doing at my hospital volunteering thing in college.
Now I’m halfway through an IM residency. It’s tough, but it’s still better than med school. Goddamn, med school was truly horrible.

My stats on my profile were my stats in 2011. Since then I gained 35 pounds of fat, and have virtually lost all my muscle.
I’m old and decrepit now guys, but it’s not too late for you. Take my advice, stick with the gym, or you’ll wish you did.Misc MD Crew

I have a question about research vs working for med school applications. Been working as an ED tech for a few years and from the spurring of the docs and management have decided to go back to school and attempt medical school. cGPA3.6 sGPA3.0 back from 2016. Will be going for Biomed at the state uni starting autumn and am wondering during the summer if I should work my butt off saving money for school and self-study or go and apply for research positions (unpaid.) Reading back through this thread yall say research is vital but what about my hours and work experience in the ED? Any help greatly appreciated!

Tbh no one really cares about workhours in the ED. Everyone checks the box regarding clinical experience (whether you're getting paid or volunteering), and that's it. Because of this, research is the next thing you should do if you're really considering medical school. But we all know bills have to be paid and you gotta do what you gotta do. But without research, you're going to disqualify yourself from a lot of schools.
Now if you go DO, then don't even worry about research and just make as much money as possible while maintaining a 4.0 from here on out
