    Help with press

    So I a doing texas method with benching twice a week on volume and intensity day and a press on light day. The reason for this is because my bench was stalling by alternating and this has really helped my bench. However, I am only doing three sets of five increasing 2.5 lbs each week on the press and its been going badly and I have actually decreased in that exercise. Any advice on how I can change things on press day. Btw in terms of form I am doing this press seated without a back rest since my ceiling is too low and I pause at the bottom of each rep.

    To really develop both at the same time, you need to alternate so you'll be pressing 2x a week one week and benching 2x a week the other.

    Sometimes, focusing more time on the exercise itself is not the answer to plateau breaking. Try backing off a bit on bench and focus more time on the supporting muscles. A big back and lats help pressing more than you could imagine.
