Do you have a training partner? Is it a friend, work colleague or family member?
I train with my wife at the moment and it is going very well.

I have been lifting solo for so long now that when I recently lifted with a friend I feel like they were in my way. There are a few other regulars at the gym that solo like me, we all sort of have this unspoken agreement that we are willing to help spot each other when needed. Otherwise, it's just me and my music.

I've had one real training partner in the past who would spot for/with me and occasionally we'd mirror each others workouts and would motivate one another so it was pretty beneficial. I haven't had one in a few years now since I mainly workout alone and at home. When I do go to the big gym I take a friend along but she doesn't do weights just cardio so I use those gym days as cardio days. Still pretty motivating.

It's been a long time since I worked out with anybody. I did enjoy it, but I do find that I can get through a workout much more quickly when I hit it alone. There are several couples who work out at the same time that I do in the evenings. I like seeing it. It's just nice, seems like. They will hit certain exercises together, and do any number of others apart. I can tell you one thing, I don't much like the 3 or 4 who come in together, joined at the hip, and all do the same thing one after another. Ha! Lord help the poor fool who wants to use a particular machine, or one of 5 different sets of DB's that are strewn all over the floor. LOL There is always a whole lot of jabbering going on as well. I guess it might be motivating for them, but it's a royal pain for anybody and everybody else in the gym.

I usually train alone. But once a month, usually on a Saturday, I visit my friend 30 minutes away. He owns a WL gym and there are usually at least 6 lifters, and we all max out.. Great times..

I've started training my sons (now 14 and 16) when they turned 12. They make great lifting partners
(and now that my youngest will join my oldest in HS next year, they can train together at the HS gym - yeah me! mom of the year )** Marie **
