    stop creatine while skiing?

    I'm going skiing for 4 days in Colorado and typically we are out all day and I take I consume alot of water with all the cardio.

    I'm taking creatine now and have to drink more water than normal to ward off cramping.

    Would the increased activity and high altitude increase muscle cramping?

    Should I discontinue taking creatine while on the trip?

    It doesnt matter really, it wont clear your system in 4 days so the effects will be there whether you take it or not

    This. If you can bring some with you, go for it. If not, not a huge deal either.

    If you are concerned with cramping, be sure to drink as much water as possible.

    I usually just leave the creatine at home when I travel for work or holiday. A few days to a week off isn't going to make a huge difference if any.

    I've always been taught even on non training days to consume it. 4 days, I would drink it every other day. In the end you do what you feel is best. Just my .02

    the question I have was if i discontinued taking it, would the chances for cramping subside quickly or would it continue as I still have creatine in the system?

    Probably subside fairly quickly. However, cramping is pretty uncommon, unless you aren't meeting your minimums for water intake.

    Just leave it at home, drink plenty of water and continue after your trip. Its an over-the-counter supplement… the benefits/detriments are marginal to begin with and don't warrant such concern. lol

    I think once muscle saturation is reach it takes 3 or more weeks to return completely to homeostasis. There was a study done where it was tracked, and a graph provided, but not something I'm going to attempt to locate on a mobile device.

    I go to breckenridge a lot. used to be a concern of mine. I say just leave it and enjoy yourself. When I did take creatine and went out on the slopes I did horrendous, but i remember it was green magnitude, something in that bothered me and made me frustrated going up and down the mountains. Just wanted to quit and go inside.
