I just bought this bench for $80, and wanted some opinions about whether to go with new padding from Full Circle or to try to salvage the damage that's been done. I'm still undecided about whether I want to keep this bench or flip it.
I couldn't find much info about the dimensions of the bench, so for future reference, it is just over 44" long, just shy of 18" high, and the padding is 10" wide. The bench is a beast, and must weigh about 120lb - 140lbs. Thankfully, it has some large wheels. The frame just needed some cleaning so I wiped everything down. The top pad in good condition, and besides a few places showing wear and loose threads, it doesn't need much work. The bottom pad has been treated poorly, and it looks like an extra piece of plywood was glued and screwed to raise the seat. The stitching on the vinyl for the seat pad was removed and not stapled back on since it couldn't accommodate the raised seat.
The question is whether it's worth ~$50 + shipping to get a new bottom pad or whether the seat can be salvaged for much cheaper. I don't see how I can remove the glued portion of wood so it will be tossed, but I can probably cut a new piece of plywood to match the original and staple the vinyl over the pads and remount the seat.
As far as a mini-review after one bench session, I can say it is nice to be able to mix it up and do incline bench presses. However, the 12" width of the Rogue flat bench does make a difference for flat bench press. It just feels more stable to have those 2"s. The slightly shorter height and narrower pad of the B-117 does feel more comfortable for putting my feet down than the Rogue which is a shade over 18". Gonna put it through some more workout sessions before deciding to keep both, sell the Rogue, or flip the B-117.

a.png You are one of those "glass half empty" types aren't you.
A new bottom pad from full circle padding will not be an exact vinyl match with the upper Bodymasters pad. Take it to a local auto upholstery shop to try for a better match. I feel sure that you can get it re-covered for less than fifty.Last edited by deadwoodgregg; 01-29-2016 at 09:52 AM.

Don't mind BulkMore, he is a douche nozzle that believes anything other than a barbell and dumbbells is a waste.
G8rlaw to answer your question, if you are going to keep it, do the repairs including the new rubber on the handle and new back pad. If you are going to flip it, clean it up, do the repair yourself and sell it. Most benches like that will get you 150 to 200 in most markets. You might be able to get 250 for it but thats prolly top end. So you are looking to make about the same repaired or not.
Btw you could prolly get 125-150 for the rogue bench so that is always an option. Could sell the rogue and pay for and repair the bm. Then you would have practically a brand new bm commercial FI bench with nothing lost.I don't believe in deloading. Instead you should find someone at the gym, ask them to be your friend, once you are friends ask them to blind fold you, make sure not to look cheeky because otherwise they might get the wrong end of the stick. Then ask them to load the bar with a number between 2.5kg - 250kg, then blast out 4x10 reps. You gotta get past that mental block, deloads are a waste of time and you don't get any kudos from your new friend at the gym. Seeking: Hip Press

If it was me, I'd go ahead and purchase the new pad. Might as well make it look "like new" as opposed to doing it yourself and maybe screwing something up. I'm pretty anal though, so maybe that's just me.
I'd definitely keep the bench - and I'd keep the Rogue bench also if you have the room for them and are not hurting for money. I'm not sure how people handle not having an incline bench of some kind. If you keep both benches you can set up some real nice supersets between flat presses and incline press/flyes.STAND TALL AND SHAKE THE HEAVENS!!

there's a guy in tuscan that can make you a a cover to your existing pad. I, and others used him and it came out great. take off your current covers by removing the staples and send it to him, he makes new ones based off the old ones, then ships them back. I live two hours away and my turn around times was a day.
