yes I would imagine. Have done it once and seen it once. The one I saw, I could have sworn it looked like a solid load. Always good to practice those drills for said circumstances.
any of you guys ever seen a slamfire with ar15 with factory loads. I have not. Just curiousMisc Firearms Crew

I'm a scumbag because in a world where people are killing each other for food, I wouldn't let 100 lbs of meat go to waste. Got it.

No doubt. Is AR your go to HD? I viewed it as a long term storage low readiness approach. It stays in the safe as it is. I have spent far more time working with handguns and that's primary go to for HD/SD.
Potential for short stroking, especially under stress, is something I hadn't considered and that's (for me) perhaps the most compelling reason for chambered/safety on. The addition of a BCM GF charging handle makes a world of difference in terms of a strong fast charge compared to standard handle (which with oil, sweat, etc, my fingers have slipped off during a class and I did short stroke the rifle) and it's one of the of the few additions/mods I added. I'm something of a minimalist in my old age.

Pretty much, yes. I've seen it happen before. Aside from clearing malfunctions, I basically never touch my charging handle.
I'm not saying racking your AR to load it is wrong, FYI. This is just my preference.
I have not.
I have my G26 in my nightstand and my AR right next to my bed in my walk-in closet. I haven't had to grab one, but the AR will be the first thing I grab if I do need anything. I don't want to keep my AR in plain view next to my bed which is why I keep the 26 there, even though the AR will be the first thing I grab. I guess one is none and two is one or whatever.
My mentality is if you're going to keep any guns accessible for HD, they should be chambered and ready to go (if we're talking about most weapons, I think one of you mentioned something about a random gun you keep with an empty chamber for a specific reason).
I had only ever used a standard CH until Procon sent me a BCM (I think the medium sized one) and I currently use that on my "go to" AR. I am a fan of it and even though I got by with the standard one when I was in the Army, the added size of the BCM is definitely a nice feature. I'm a convert.

do website ever waive HAZMAT fees for primers and powders?
it would be more economical to drive 2 hours to buy it from a B&M store
I use my CH for the first mag - I have yet to have an issue
I have never had a slam fire~MFC~

I'm a fan of the BCM GF, which makes for a very strong fast charging of the gun which can reduce potential for short stroking and other issues. I learned of it as a class where I'd just short stroked the rifle because my fingers slipped off the standard handle which now had sweat, oil, etc on it. One of the best additions to the AR I have added.

I contemplated buying a BCM CH for a while, but it's not something I especially need. at the moment I take my AR to the range occasionally and have it bedside for HD. If I was taking classes or carrying my AR was part of my job, I'd definetely invest in it ASAP. I probably will when I have a disposable income anyway.

Another reason I lock it to the rear and use the bolt release is because that is how I reload the rifle as well. I don't pull the CH to release the bolt, I hit the bolt release. Even if it's slight, it's still building that consistency.
Same and I would not have one if it wasn't for Pro. I definitely like it, but I won't be putting them on all my ARs, that's for sure. Would I buy one if this one needed to be replaced for some reason? Perhaps.Misc Firearms Crew

To me, the cost so low and the potential benefit high, I felt it was worth it. It's a game changer in terms of positive fast charge and lowered potential for problems. It was one of the few upgrades I made. Obviously, people do just fine without it.
