Definitely agree about teaching and retaining information. Loved explaining things to my classmates in nursing school and connecting the dots between different body systems and diseases. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's over. I just love learning.

Enjoy your Tennessee visit!!!
In terms of studying (which it feels like I've spent 65% of my life doing) the idea of teaching it to someone else works exceptionally well. The other "trick" that I used was to write the test. Specifically, I would design a test operating under the premise that if I were the professor/instructor, what questions would I ask?
Once it's complete, set it aside completely and then revisit it a day or two later to see which topics are still murky and then focus your energy there. The most common flaw I saw in others' techniques was to allocate the same amount of time to every topic (i.e., I'll spend 2 hours studying chapter 7), but if you have 80% of Chapter 7 mastered, spend 100% of your time/energy on the 20% that remains.#Mensan

Enjoy TN, Bubz! Tell Taiga I said hi.
Tell her I said she really is from Tennessee, cuz she’s the only ten I see.
I can’t comment on teaching others to become a better subject matter expert at something. I never taught or tutored anyone in the academic setting. I needed lots of help when I was a student. In fact, I was the first Asian guy in high school to fail calculus. This above all..

I do know teaching helps, so I think it'll be a good tool for me. I remember in college I had a genetics class that was just brutal, and I studied by writing a test for my friends. It helped.
The difficult part about this one is that the breadth and depth of knowledge seems insurmountable. It's insane all the stuff I need to know. So I need to weight things appropriately by how they will be weighted on the test as well as my weak points, try not to waste time on minutia, but also master the info at the same time. I've been told by a lot of people you have to cut bait somewhere, which is true, but the anal retentive terrified-to-fail part of me has trouble taking that chance. I'll be glad when this is over but in the mean time I just need to put my head down, focus, and push on.___________________________________________________________

Hi Bubs
I don't think bb.com would let me rep you back, so I wanted to stop by and say Hi and that I am proud of you for keeping at it even though life has thrown you some curves in the last year.Spoon Barbell Club

OMG I feel like I was gone for so long! Sorry y'all!
So Tennesse was great. We stayed in Franklin (actually Leiper's Fork for everyone know may know the area), it's about 30-45 minutes outside Nashville. Spent most of the time in the country, taking it all in and relaxing. Saw a country band (Johnny Mac) at this place called Puckett's Grocery. It's a grocery store/restaurant/music venue. Food was very home-cooked southern style, people were all very nice, and the music was excellent. He played mostly old country and old rock and roll, definitely worth the $10 cover.
Also! We had dinner with Wade! Woot! Great restaurant close to the airport. Food was good, company was better. I can't wait to bring hubs back and go play in Wade's gym! He'd love it, and so would I.
Went to Nashville one night. Had to see what it was all about, can definitely see why they call it, "Nashvegas"- lots of neon lights, lots of drunk people, all the time! Every bar has live music though, and they're all really good, so that's a plus. I could have stayed there all night just listening and enjoying the people watching.
So here's some pics, hope you enjoy!

Notes
-Felt a little rusty today, mostly on squats and cleans. I only missed a week of lifting, but since I lift on the weekends it's been more like 2 weeks, so I felt it.
-Hams actually felt stronger than expected though, so there's a plus.
-Need to make a concerted effort to eat more protein and cook more. Need to get back to the place where I like to cook.
-Work is nuts, per usual!___________________________________________________________

Thank you!
I definitely needed the relaxation. I planned on having a bit of relaxation between residency and starting this job, but y'all know how that shook out
Next time I relax will be end of May for my bestie's bachelorette weekend at Lake Tahoe. It'll be much needed by then too!___________________________________________________________
