Good observation. During the time period you mentioned, smartphones became ubiquitous. The smartphone is probably the worst piece of physical technology the Western woman has been given. No chick ever wants to have an actual conversation these days. I know there was a hate thread on Aziz Ansari earlier today, but he absolutely nailed this point here.




Apps, such as Tinder, have ruined online dating, and dating in general. I am an old school online dater. I used to talk to chicks on blackplanet back in 2001 as a freshman in high school, and I always talked to a lot of girls online up through my early 20s. Chit was different back then, because online dating was a niche thing, and it was generally frowned upon my most people. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't just desperate girls on there, but also girls who were just introverted and didn't enjoy the club scene. Therefore, you'd find some gems online. Still few and far between, but not nearly as scarce as today. Online dating is the cool thing to do now, because of smartphone apps, so the masses of potato sloots have flocked to it, and any decent girl has already been snatched up.

interesting point, online dating is every personality type. makes it harder to seek out a more innocent type girl, which is what a lot of dudes want. traveling leaves a lot to be desired if it's the typical 3-7 day vacation. Unless I'm spending a few months somewhere , spending a few days to see another country's backyard is pointless and a waste of money imo. Money would be better spend trying to get to know your own city/state.
