I've used Gold Standard before, PES, Quest, EAS, etc. How would you say Animal compares to Gold Standard as far as taste, mixing with water, and overall protein quality? Also, any info on BCAA's on this? The macros are nearly identical so I'm just curious what your opinions are before giving it a try.

Back in the day (and still here on BB.com) ON gets great reviews (and is highly rated) and is definitely a quality protein. No fillers, no gimmicks, you get exactly what the label states (which is nice). However, I think "flavoring" is something ON has struggled with a bit in the past.
So with all that said, and speaking for the one flavor of ANIMAL Whey I have used in the past (Cookies n Cream) I would definitely go with ANIMAL and I wouldn't even hesitate.
But again, both are quality products. I'm going based strictly off them being completely equal in everything but taste.

What he said above. I purchased Vanilla Ice Cream by ON a long time ago, honestly it was the worst flavor ever. Very bland. Tasted like cardboard, after that I never went back to ON again. Maybe they have other flavors that taste better, but they ruined it for me. I Currently have Animal Whey in Pumpkin and Chocolate Choc Chip. Animal's flavors taste really good IMO. Based on my two comparisons, I'm sticking with Animal.

Animal has a great flavoring system and would be my choice. ON has been around for awhile so you know they're honest and quality as well. Flavors are bland though and Animal kills them here.
All whey proteins are heavy naturally in BCAA's.Your nutrition and workout program determines your success.

Would choose Animal Whey over ON Gold Standard as far as taste goes any day of the week.

Seems like there's general consensus that Animal is the better between the two. I've been using a variety of proteins lately. MTS whey and Species isolyze. Both are solid proteins but I was going to go with the extreme chocolate milk from ON for my next order. This thread though has swayed me, and I will be ordering a tub of Animal Whey next. Any suggestions on what my first tub should be?

I must be in the minority for ON. ON Mocha Cappuccino is my favorite tasting protein powder on the market. If you like Starbucks Frappuccions then you should like this flavor. Not to mention you can whip up your own Frapp creations at home with a blender.
I'll admit that ON's Vanilla Ice Cream flavor might be the worst I've tried. Somewhere I read they updated this flavor but I haven't tried it in over a year. IMO ON's French Vanilla Creme is better than Animals Vanilla, but you can't go wrong with either company. Both are solid.
I always have a Vanilla protein flavor on hand as they are the most versatile.
