I just could never understand those types of adults that never heard the concept "Times have changed". With the way things are in society and the way the economy and job market is not to mention if the kid is going to college...also add the possibility of paying back student loans with a chitty job and being stuck at that chitty job cause the major you studied for either doesn't make a lot of money or there aren't any positions open for it. Not to mention the cost of renting an apartment let alone a house. Do you parents believe that every person should have a spouse, nice car, family and a job suitable for supporting a family as soon as they hit their early 20s? if you honestly expect life to be that perfect in 2015 you're a fckn idiot sorry not sorry.

Yes, it is expected now, and it's ridiculous.
"When I was a kid, I paid my way through college with a part-time job!"
Yeah, certainly legitimate to compare $40k colleges with $5k ones. Also legit to compare only needing a HS Diploma to get a good job with needing a college degree for an entry-level job.

i supported myself while in college. Took me 8 years bc i had to work full time doing construction work during the day. You're just a little ******* who thinks they are entitled to college. Maybe if you got good grade while in high school your tuition wouldn't be so high. Maybe if you went to a JC the first 2 years your tuition wouldn't be too high.

I am in college and I work (currently trying to get a second job). I have no car since I bike everywhere and I'm saving up for one On top of that I pay for my own tuition. I don't go out, I don't spend my money recklessly, don't do drugs or drink, don't have hang out with the wrong crowd. but of course I would expect someone that's kicking 40's door down to talk chit about someone younger without getting the chance to know the whole story. nice job @$$wipe)

I also worked through college. Nice assumptions, though. All I was implying was that the retarded parents that can't see the difference between 1980 and 2015 are foolish. In 1979, college students only had to work 191 minimum wage hours for the average in-state tuition per year. That number is 991 now.

Note that any of those 18-20 year olds would also be shot by the commanding officer if they didn't push forward. Strong misrepresentation, a lot of people didn't want to be there at all.
Also university/college is a female majority, of course it's different, part of why they can keep cranking up tuition costs every year while people are still making the same money.AP4 Crew.

Id say it is almost the exact opposite OP. More and more people are living with their parents until they are 25-26yrs old (I am right now). And it is the smart thing to do, though can be a hassle at times with wanting to be independent. But more are staying home because it helps with paying off debt, saving money for a house etc.
I wanted to move out after I graduated last spring. I would have lived on my own in a horrible apt paying all those bills plus $400 in minimum payments on my 35k student loans plus another 5k I owed a second school. So 41k in total debt
Now I only on $22,600 left in loans and will be debt free in october next year. Plan on moving out in July. I definitely owe my parents big time and will pay them back eventually for making me do the smart/right choice.
More people should do that to pay back their debt before going on their own. Again it sucks for a lot of reasons, but in the end, those people will be happy they did it. Plus it seems parents love having their kids around still now a days. Not as quick to kick them out on their own it seems.Bulls--Bears

Really bc when i graduated around 2005 it was about 25k compared to 32k now. Factor in inflation and its not too different.

"Heyyy. Hi there! Hello! I’m Lord Third. Let me tell you something, do you know how high I can count? I can count to three…"
“Little Haowie, don’t you worry,” it said, eyes shining brightly. “My dream is that, upon entering the Black Lands, there will be people there shouting the name of Lord Fifth. Then, my two great armies will join together to become like my wings!”

Hahaha I wonder if you actually believe what you just wrote (the bold part). We really gonna act like people 30 and above arent more entitled?
I find it ironic that older people act like they had it so tough yet they are the same ones who cry more than anyone. Older people "raised" this "entitled" generation because they hated how they were raised in such "tough" environments that they became soft themselves and decided to raise their kids to be soft. Though if we are being honest, the current generation of 18-30 year olds are the smartest generation ever.Bulls--Bears
