If You Were Only Allowed To Do One Exercise For The Rest Of Your Life...

If you only were allowed to choose one exercise for the rest of your life. What would it be? & Why? I am sure a lot will say Bench, Squat, or Dead? But I think hearing the reasoning would be interesting...

My heart says squat but my head says deadlift. DL would be a bit more full body, but I can't imagine never squatting again.

Probably the clean and press, is that cheating? It would engage my whole body in a way that would be hard with just squats, bench, or deads.

The clean is an exercise and the press is an exercise and the clean and press is an exercise, so you could add the overhead squat and make the clean and press and overhead squat an exercise. The weight, of course, is limited to your pressing strength/skill.

Band pull aparts and if that's not hardcore enough, then standing BTN press.
    Lower back control/arching:
    - Arching your back will not flatten out your lower back.
    - Lower back is arched by tilting your crotch towards your knees.

    Counterintuitive? 101% so!

A muscle can be either Medial to the midline or Lateral to it.
Therefore, there is no such thing as a medial/lateral delt.
Lateral delt or MIDDLE delt please...

Muscle up to handstand push ups - no doubt about it.

You could always wear a weight vest.

You would have amazing development of the shoulders, chest, back and traps; your core would be very stable, and it would be very impressive.

(For the record, I can do muscle ups with little "kipping", I can almost do handstand pushups - I can do a handstand on parallettes and hold it for around 6 seconds, and do 5-6 wall supported HSPUs, so as long as I had a few months before I could only do one exercise, I would be good.)

What about a clean and press overhead pistol squat - essentially, you'd be able to squat more than double your clean and press weight that way, and your core strength and stability would be phenomenal.

That sounds really ****ing difficult! I like your other idea better, but with the full squat jump. FYI, the plyometric full squat high jump absolutely murders your core.

If I could only do one exercise forever and I wanted maximum benefit, I would choose the Olympic clean and jerk. The full body movement would challenge all the muscles in one fell swoop. However I think I would mentally be miserable.

If I wanted maximum enjoyment I would go with hiking. Still enough to keep my legs and core in good shape and burn a ton of calories. Plus you’re out exploring in the mountains and forests so that’s pretty cool.

That's an easy one. Squat. Because it's my favorite lift and I'd rather be that guy with huge legs and no upper body than the opposite.
