What muscles are used to hold somebody?

Hold somebody like people do like after a wedding. Where your arms are in front of you and they are laying long ways. How do you train for this?

Aside from the fact that it shouldn't be difficult to do this...

Your arms (bis/tris/forearms/shoulders) play a major roll in this, and your legs as well, to make sure you can stand up. Your abs/lower back act as stabilizer muscles....

Basically, there is no need to "train" for this moment, because it is nto that strenuous and most people could do it regardless. But, if you really want to train, you could look into a powerlifting routine...

ROFL so i geuss were getting married and worrying about being able to carry the bride huh
im pretty sure you can do it but if you want to anyways i geuss you could work on your bis, forearms, delts and your whole trunk/leg area so deadlifts would help you with that part

I can pick somebody up im just saying it is not easy. You would think that since you lift in the gym it would be really easy but it isnt. You guys go find somebody heavy and see how long you can hold them out if front of you without thier arms holding on to you.

Ok? Why are you holding your brother like that? I hope that you won't have to hoist up a chick that weighs 180.

Why is this important to you anyway?

why do you care?? he asked a question, so instead of posting with complaints, why dont you just answer it??

forearms, bis, and lower back do the most of the work, so train them. theres plenty of exercises on the main site.
If you think you can, or you think you cant, your right.

    Well

You could also emulate the motion with a barbell... Kind of deadlifting it up and then a curling motion. The thing is, most guys would be able to lift the person up, the tiring part is holding them their using your biceps. If you lean back a little the weight will push more against your chest and you could stabilize it using your abs. I think that'd be easier than holding them right out in front of you.

Maybe hes marrying a fat chick? Or a bodybuilding chick? Idk! Just keep working your arms. To see wut mucles you need to work try picking up the bar without weights on it and study which mucles are being flexed/worked.
