To quote everyone on the forum: You need a 300 lb weight set, bench & power rack.
My thoughts on the machine is that it's a POS.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

You know, for someone with 5000+ posts, you'd think this question wouldn't come up.
Here's the POS in question.
I guess if OP is looking to tone, but not get too...
I'm sorry, but this thread is so much fail.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

I just googled it. It's in the "body by jake / late night infomercial grade of crap equipment no one who buys actually uses. It's almost guaranteed to shake, rattle, and wobble when used and looks to be made of 20 gauge steel. Probably goes for $50 or best offer on Craig's list. I would definitely not buy unless you are in need of an extra clothes rack!

Problem is these rickety / flimsy machines are so poorly designed they make the experience of working out (cardio included) so unenjoyable no one uses them consistently

There are tons of fitness devices that technically "get the job done" in the sense that they allow the user to complete a exercise or movement. If you look at the equipment used by people who train consistently, get results, and continue the fitness journey over long periods of time you almost never see these gimmick as seen on tv pieces of equipment used. Why? Because long term fitness takes energy, commitment and an investment in time that warrants using something that allows the user to feel stable and secure in pushing there physical limits. if you are looking to "mess around" and get a half assed workout in for a few months, go for it. If your serious enough about it to do this consistently long term, you will want something much better!

That thing is a knock-off of the Versa-Climber, a commercial climber machine that retails from $2000 up to over $5000, depending on it's exact specs and options. Indeed, you definitely get what you pay for.
You've already bought the machine, so for you, this thread's outcome is moot. But in a week or two, there will be hundreds/thousands of beginners doing Google searches for the Maxi-gizmo, and those searches will land directly in this forum, likely to this thread (such is the attraction of Google to a forum website comprised of over 11 million members). It's the intention of this forum not to let some other beginner make the same mistake you've made.No brain, no gain.

not really.
a few of the people in this subforum alone are over 6'3.
and isn't the point of exercise to be something obese people can do in order to lose weight?
listen you bought something that other people aren't a fan of. you like that something. so it doesn't matter, just use it to help you get more fit and leave it at that.Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

My recommendation would be a commercial or near commercial piece purchased used of craigslist or a commercial equipment reseller. It will not only last forever essentially in a home, but be a pleasure to use. I don't do a ton of cardio but I bought a semi commercial elliptical trainer about 12-13 years ago. It's very robust and solid but if I did it again I would do Craig's list (wasn't around at the time) it is 1 step below commercial and is as solid today as it was when bought. Even though it is not what I would choose today, it will be usable essentially forever, no shake, rattle, or roll. That is the reason long term fitness people try for higher quality equipment.
