Would be even cooler if the book was announced after the episode airs. Wishful thinking. That said, these last 3 episodes are going to be nuts. Has been a very good season

But nothing Lord Glover said could top Lyanna Mormont's "Are you a Bolton or a Lannister" remark.

One of the older after-show inside the episode segments had them talking about how since she escaped Ramsay, she's been learning how to play the game, but I'm still waiting for them to make good on that instead of being smack talked by a 10 year old.

The difference is Arya is 1000x more likeable than Dany/Dorne characters. Plus, you feel a good payoff coming from her slow burn story. Dany can LDAR for all I care.

Agreed, and Ayra's story actually has her face major setbacks. She's seen so many of her loved ones killed, friends murdered in cold blood, she's been blinded, beaten, made a beggar, had to personally kill on numerous occasions, and now got stabbed in the bloody gut.

Dany had to learn to like the D, was called a sloot in a language she couldn't understand, got personally flown around, and hung out in the Khaleesi retirement home for all of an hour.

The best stories have triumph over adversity that develop characters through the course of their journey. Daenerys can't even hold your interest flashing her tits out anymore because even brothel whore #5 has better ones.

And Dorne? I think they exist to make Dany only the second worst. They might not even come into play now because they went so different from the admittedly far better direction the book was going in with Myrcella.

The plan was that one ^ up there to take the throne if Tommen dies, but now with that completely out of the picture, what's the point of possibly screwing it up even more?

If things get heated in Kings Landing, revenge for Myrcella might never even be brought up again because as it is there was one line by Jaime broaching the matter. That's one debt I don't think people care much about the Lannisters repaying at this point.

Revenge is a much stronger part to Ayra's character that has been driving her story along thus far, so that alone makes her early demise seem even more unlikely right now. All the build up, the death list prayers, and no pay off is not good writing. It's something that defines Ayra, which is why she could never become a Faceless Man, but the Waif might have entered a test on her own by failing to kill Ayra.

Part of Jaqen's request for a quick death entails a clean kill as well, and Ayra walking around the market with a bleeding wound is not a clean kill befitting an assassin. While I don't think Jaqen will necessarily intervene, or at least not too directly, he's probably observing how the two of them act now that Ayra's still walking because the Waif failed her mission, too.

Despite some slow build up, Ayra's story has always had some of the most tense moments and now things are about as kill or be killed as you can get.

The youtube channel Emergency Awesome kind of addressed this, a king actually fighting in a trial by combat is unprecedented and not very likely to happen. Usually a king chooses a warrior to fight for him. Doesn't mean it can't happen though. I'm hoping for Cleganebowl instead.

You don't have to fight for someone. Bronn refused to fight for Tyrion. Also, the sparrow wouldn't risk it. He has influence on the king, he wouldn't risk getting that king killed.

yeah actually tywin lancaster was a good ruler. ned was alpha but he knowingly let honor be his downfall. he should have never became robert's hand of the king when he was already appointed warden of the north, he had such a big piece of land to look after.

In fact, the Baratheons actually came over to Westoros with the Targaryens. According the history of Westoros, it's rumored that the first Baratheon was actually the bastard brother of Aegon the Conqueror.

Jorah would have been a great House Mormont lord too. He's got an awesome mind for politics. Dany wouldn't have made it past season 1 without him. I guess being a amazing commander runs in the family for them. Its a shame they're a lower house.

Very true regarding Ned and Tywin, but when we've got rulers like the Arynn boy, the Dorne poosey, **** Frey, Daenerys Lord of the Seven Corners of Candy Land, and the actual King Tommen, formally son of Jaime Lannister... well, a 10 year old girl who also back sasses Sansa is starting to look like quite the improvement.

Pity they haven't really shown much of Tyrion and Varys in their A-game at ruling Meereen, but all the real male alphas actually have skin in the game now, rather than acting more traditionally as a leader.

yeah there's way too much that can happen and only 3 episodes left... i think episode 10 will be mostly about the hound vs the mountain. stark vs bolton will be episode 9. and not sure about episode 8. siege of riverrun probably. man i wish they had more episodes per season.

Episode 8 - No One: Ayra vs Waif, Riverrun, the Hound going from no one back to killing, and the Mountain vs Lancel (pffttt)
Episode 9 - Battle of the Bastards: Definitely Ramsay vs Jon Snow
Episode 10 - Winds of Winter: Probably a lot of things to fit in, but they at least have to cap off the season with something about Bran and/or the Nights King's army. Winter is coming.

Good thinking there. Sansa's been saving that guilt card for a rainy day, but she has to know that after the Knights of the Vale save them at Winterfell that Lord Baelish is going to feel like he owns her at that point, maybe expecting marriage as his reward. No way Sansa will ever fogive him, but if she goes through with killing Petyr, hopefully she has the common sense to do it on the sly so that she causes even more problems with the Vale. That Lord Arynn kid would be a nightmare without someone like Baelish to reign him in.
