Exactly. He could have EITHER run in zig-zags OR just change his speed dramatically, and his chances of survival would have improved tremendously. As to what that guy said, combining the two would have been a hard tactic to think of on the spot. Trying to run 500-800m to Jon's horse in a straight line is plain stupidity. In fact, Bolton could have experimentally learnt how to use a freaking catapult and still ended up killing him by the time he'd get to Jon's horse.

It was a good shot agreed also take any old ****ty bow, they will fire an arrow at 120FPS. That arrow would have been coming at him at exactly 80mph once Bolton shot it. I'm not convinced a human teenager can do enough to avoid that from an experienced marksmen who knows how to lead a target.

Why didn't Rickon just run backwards so he could see the arrows coming?

Let's just put an end to this, even if Rickon zip zag or looked back/ran backwards to see the arrow, Ramsay is way more cunning than a 13yr twerp and would have ordered all of his archers to set loose on him.

I'm surprised nobody moaned about that scene where Ramsay shoots a dying and very nearly dead Wun Wun in the eye instead of Jon who was right beside him. He knew he was fukd, shoulda shot Jon and died happy knowing he fukked everything up instead of going full 1v1 Achilles from Troy style.
But then again Melisandre would have resurrected him LOL

Ep 9 was incredible; possibly one of the greatest soundtracks I might have listened to.

Ramsay shooting Wun Wun is an easy explanation:
When you see a giant do that to someone, they become priority target #1 in case of a last wind outburst.
I'm not sure what to watch, but I might just rewatch from the first season, catch up on Vikings, buy a Roku to watch Black Sails, and check out Rome or Spartacus. I can probably stretch all that out long enough with plenty of content to spare.
I still have the books lying around to catch up on.
If you want nonstop action, just watch the third Hobbit film because without the things you mentioned, that's pretty much what you get. That's not to say tons of action can't be fun, but you'll never get the same experience or care nearly as much about what is driving that action.
What's crazy is that GoT arguably does a better job of managing multiple engaging stories and characters on top of the action compared to most movies we see. I can't even think of a medieval/fantasy film even close to matching the Battle of the Bastards in the last several years, which is awfully impressive given the difference in mediums.
Even when Game of Thrones ends, it has set a legacy that more properties might adapt instead of going for a movie release. Or at least, hopefully such properties choose the Game of Thrones route vs the Walking Dead approach which has more in common with Edge of Tomorrow with zombies.
Apropos zombies, I really like GoT's approach with the White Walkers/Unead because they don't overuse them or treat them like typical zombies that are rampant in everything these days. Obviously they're not zombies, but it would be an easy cop out to try and appeal to another fanbase.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine

someone else should pick up a well written novel series to do a tv series on so we have something to watch in the off-season

The soundtrack was so on point that entire episode.
From 3:10 onwards, when Jon looks down at Rickon's body, is just unreal. Matched the entire scene perfectly, then ending on the poignant sound when Jon realises the enormity of what he's going to have to face looking at the charging cavalry. Everything that has happened has led him here.

Brahs, I've been watching GOT since the day it first aired.
I've waited 5 years for the Starks to get some fukin justice and now my day has come. I've been all in on Jon Snow ever since Robb Stark died, and I have not been disappointed. He's my ride or die srs.Look, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. The few hours we talked were really great even if the convo was stale, your really pretty and chill, and your country thats just perfect :'D i really dont know how to explain it, but i think i have feelings for you somehow. i never felt like this with someone i just met, but i felt the need to get it off my chest. sorry for being all weird just idk how to explain it D:
