301 Life changing books that I've gathered from top influencers

Gathered this list over the years by adding up all the books from incredibly successful people.

A lot of these books are recommendations from top influencers featured on various podcasts, james altucher, tim ferriss, school of greatness, etc.

I compiled the books into one massive list. I'm sure you'll find some gold in here.

(There are probably a few out of place/ crap books in here)

I'm not going to put your down, because I've learned from books to be kind and to always help others. But I would like to say that most of those books are not self help books. Secondly, we should applaud anyone who takes the effort to seek to improve themselves through books. I started with self help books in my youth, and that led me to more practical and concrete books on improving oneself, such as through diet, exercise, and other lifestyle factors.

Welcome to the thread let us know if you find any books useful/ helpful.

And how many of these have you read?

Zero to One is probably my favourite book on business btw
"No one seems to have noticed that a loss of a sense of shame means a loss of privacy; a loss of privacy means a loss of intimacy; and a loss of intimacy means a loss of depth."

“The bravest and most noble are not those who take up arms, but those who are decent despite everything; who improve what it is in their power to improve, but do not imagine themselves to be saviours. In their humble struggle is true heroism.”

Lots, and zero to one is phenomenal. Such a simple principle yet so profound.

I haven't read them all but have read many and continue to add to the list when something catches my eye.

in to check out a few of those. Just got into reading for the first time in my life and absolutely love it. Improves all aspects of daily life from the way your brain changes and forms thoughts. Not to mention gaining so much knowledge from the book it self. Find when I am reading things I have watched presentations on is the best.

My list of favorite books now:

4 hour work week - Tim Ferris
A universe from nothing -Lawrence M Krauss
Magician of the Gods - Graham Handcock
    Parallel Worlds - Michio Kaku
    The Brain - David Eagleman
The Hidden Reality - Brian Greene
    Hallucinations - Oliver Sacks
    Millionaire Fastlane - M. J. DeMarco

I was going to suggest sleep books, but I've done the work for you. Read my sleep thread in sig for 23 actionable steps. Sleep is one of the pillars of a healthy life. Too many phuck it up.

I would highly recommend books on meditation. If you can develop a daily meditation practice, even as little as 10 minutes. And if you disciplined yourself to misc 10 minutes less per day and replace that with meditation. Guarantee your life will change and you will look back at this post and smile with silent appreciation.

3rd recommendation would be "boost your brain" book. Living a life where you actively grow your brain will do so much for you. You will strengthen connections, experience reality deeper with a more powerful brain, and build cognitive reserve. Spend your life learning new skills, pick up a simple instrument, learn to juggle, brush with your opposite hand, close your eyes and think in 3d to manipulate objects (picture a spinning cube and start to colour the sides and track its motion and position of colours etc). Basically do things that strain your brain. New connections will grow, you will move towards super human level. Semi joking but not really. I knew a professor from a university who could write with both hands on the chalkboard at the same time.

    Good luck

4 hour work week was the biggest influence in my entire life, it shaped my life in so many ways. It was the seed of possibility.

Don't stop reading man. Think of all the people who spend so much time watching news and other reality TV shows when you are out there building your imagination, learning new skills, and enjoying some quiet solitude. Keep it up, we need more people to read because that's where inspiration and positive change comes from.

Amazing book list as well. I can attest to DR wayne dyer. I have been listening to his audio tapes this last week as MP3. Went through his NLP program, NEZ program, Spiritual solution to every problem, His audio book I can see clearly now. Great guy.

    Keep up the reading hustle

I'm not trying to be disparaging by any means. But it's pretty obvious you're in your head too much.

You seem like a nice guy, too. I'd cool it for a while before you become your own worst enemy.

What you're doing is a surefire path to lunacy. The only literate you need in your right life is anything RE: 80/20 so you're not so scatterbrained.

    Good list of books nonetheless.

RE: Tai Lopez, I completely disagree. He doesn't sell knowledge. He sells the illusion of knowledge. At the end of the day, it's just another market. Look around you. It's a subculture now. Every Instagram is littered with the classic pretentious enlightenment shot; the stack of unread books juxtaposed with ___ fill in the blank.

Just master a few books cover to cover, and get to living

This is just a collection of books that I dabble in from time to time. If I'm going to gain knowledge through some medium, TV, internet, radio etc I'd rather spend most of my time with books. Each form of learning has it's use those, and of course it's important to spend time relaxing or doing other activities.

There is no way I will read that list in my lifetime. It's main purpose is to capture books I thought were interesting. I read books based on themes in my life. If I want to solve a certain problem, I pull from that list relevant to the information I need at that period in time.

Tai is certainly a good marketer, that's his profession alongside business. And I don't believe he sells the illusion of knowledge, he is clearly a smart dude if you keep tabs on his videos. He shares a lot of complex ideas that are real and authentic.

Tai's main message is that you should spend more time reading. It does not hurt to acquire knowledge.

If you don't read self help, or at least some good nonfiction (most of what OP posted), you're in effect saying that you know all the answers to life and don't need to hear anything from anybody else. Why not just plug your ears if anybody ever tries to give you advice on anything.

Even if you don't follow the advice like a sheep it's interesting to learn about other perspectives.

Don't stop reading man. Think of all the people who spend so much time watching news and other reality TV shows when you are out there building your imagination, learning new skills, and enjoying some quiet solitude. Keep it up, we need more people to read because that's where inspiration and positive change comes from.
lol yeah Millionaire Fastlane got me out of my bartending job a few years ago and start the dream project, then read 4hour work week a few weeks ago and it completely changed my day to day even further. It was the reason I began reading with such intensity. I usually stick to watching 3 hour science presentations/documentaries (x2 speed, this is a godsend for everything you watch) for all faculties, or podcasts containing people that have discovered new things.

Have you tried the Wim Hof breathing technique for meditation by the way, another game changer from Tim Ferris/JRE? Normal meditation I found didnt do to much for me unless I was high on weed. I meditate everyday for around 30min now pretty consistently and it has also been a huge game changer on my physical and mental life. Could barely run 1 mile without having pains in my legs/ could barely breath. Now using his technique I am doing 6+ miles (prefer running in freezing temps in shorts/shirtless) and have no issues of being tired in a run/ no soreness later
