Women's median income here is significantly lower in most sectors of the workplace, there's a strong catholic guilt stigma around sex and abortions, etc etc. If they lived here they'd understand. One part of the movement (for example) are people that would like to beat the stigma making it more difficult to enter competitive fields of study and work, that subsequently want to make their own ways in life and not be useless leeches relying on their husband for everything.
