Apparently there is a picture of Vanessa Paradis' bare butt on the cover of Vogue Paris' December issue
Can anyone find a butt in this picture?

Do people really find the skeletal look attractive? I look at her and see a woman who has basically starved herself her entire life

She's a beautiful woman but I find that creepy and unsettling. Any guesses as to how much photoshop is involved?

I don't know about her starving herself. And I don't understand the snark on her body.
I've seen many pics, movies and music videos of Vanessa Paradis since she was a teen, way before she was ever known in the English world. She was a huge singing star to us when I was young. She never needed to diet for her looks. That is just what she looks like naturally. Many French women are just naturally small, mostly due to their eating habits since childhood.
I have a lot of respect for Vanessa and for how she has evolved in the spotlight. She has never played the Hollywood games and is pretty well balanced in her life. I happen to also find her very attractive.
She is not a bodybuilder, but not everyone needs to be one to avoid body snark.** Marie **

She is beautiful. Just because she is skinny doesn't mean she isn't attractive, nor is she the over-reaching blanket standard of attractiveness for all men. As a secure, mature adult, you should know this OP. Or was this bait to incite us to "fit or skinny shame" her. That only works if you post that nonsense on TITP.org .

Agree with others, "skinny shaming" is exactly the same as fat shaming. Maybe even worse IMO. She's very thin, so what. Unless she comes onto bb.com claiming to be super muscular i don't see why she should be actively pursued like this. Some people find this attractive, just like every other body image.

I think it's pretty rich that you say she looks like she's starving herself when we try so hard to convince people here that they don't have to starve themselves like people stereotypically believe is necessary to succeed in bodybuilding.
Also, this is no different than "do people really find the muscular manly look attractive?" regarding female lifters.

I think she is beautiful. I also agree she is naturally small. So what?! Not everyone likes/wants to be muscular and that is fine.
Also, this is a mag cover. I doubt that's what her butt looks like IRL anyways. She alsl looks good in that other pic someone posted.Mom of two boys. Natural competitor.

Of all the magazines who do a number on women and their body images I think Vogue is by far the worst offender. Vanessa Paradis actually has more bodyfat than your average Vogue model which is scary. She IS beautiful, that is the very sad point. Would she be less beautiful if she put on 10 pounds of healthy body mass?
Its sad IMO that impressionable young women look to these types of photos and believe they should starve themselves.
What's shameful about calling it what it is. Starvation. Smoking cigarettes instead of eating. 'Cleanses' that consist of 700 kcals per day. /smh

Vanessa Paradis is not a model. She is a singer turned actress. Put Holly Hunter on a cover - similar look - would we also hear snark? Probably not, because people consider her a serious actress.
We spend tons of time on here telling 14-16 yo that a big booty is genetics and to accept their smaller size. So why snark on a natural body shape.
I don't see her out there promoting smoking as a diet aid. Paradis is in her 40, with kids and a busy life. She might not see putting on 10 lbs of muscles as a priority for her. She is not on here asking for advice.
All natural female shapes should be celebrated from Paradis to Kardashian along with athletic body types such Dana Lynn Bailey or Olympian Dana Torres, without us women attacking them for looking the way they do.
A lot of us here choose to go a little hungry because of cutting down. It is part of the game. Yet, some people may judge bodybuilder ladies who go to pretty low BF for their sports as extreme and unhealthy. Adult women should decide how they want their body to look.
The magazine industry is certainly using all their photoshopping skills to present an unrealistic image of women, but I don't see this as a reason to snark on specific actresses/models/singers bodies who happen to be thin naturally. I'd rather fight the industry not the women themselves.
I really don't get this original post.
My 2 cents...** Marie **

Picture has probably been edited, nevertheless I don't find her body shape particularly attractive. Some may, but I personally like more muscularity. Like posted earlier, it's ironic that you criticize her for 'starving' herself, yet a restrictive diet mostly goes hand in hand with bodybuilding. It kind of also annoys me that people have taken to shaming naturally smaller females - maybe it's the 'obesity epidemic' that's actually distorting our image of the healthy body... no offence intended to anyone.

I see Marie's point, but...
she is a former model;
she is a long-time smoker, and this is why many models and actresses smoke-it kills the appetite. But ok, let's assume she just enjoys smoking...
According to BMI visuals, she is underweight (ie., below 18). If you look at her back, hard to see under the white lettering, you can see vertebrae.
I don't believe she is naturally this thin. I think she limits her calories every. single. day.
If she came here and posted this picture of herself, would you be encouraging her to eat? I absolutely would.Last edited by Jodie10; 11-25-2015 at 06:02 PM.

I still do not see what the point of this is. Some people will find it attractive, some wont.
There are just as many athletes who have bad dieting practices.

OP, you are probably preaching to the wrong choir here. But thanks for showing a fine example as to how body shaming works both ways .
Op, are you her doctor? Are you capable of accurately diagnosing her with an eating disorder based on one * photoshopped * mag cover? Do you know her of her health conditions (if she has any at all) and dieting behavior? Didn't think so. Stop implying she has an eating disorder; that's just as *******ish as a skinny person approaching a fat stranger and telling them to eat less.Mommy, college student, wife, and gym rat

If you wanna talk about eating disorders you can do it without posting someone's picture and making a rude comment on their body. (She didn't ask for it).
Like if you wanted to talk about obesity, you wouldn't probably post a picture of someone heavy and comment on their big butt and how unattractive it is. It's just insensitive and rude.

Yes it is vilifying when you post up about her "missing butt" and ask if her "skeletal" look is attractive.
If you want to make a change, then stop with the shaming, which makes it harder for people to come forward with issues, and do something about it.
Don't buy the magazines or products, try to write about it and put out good info that this is not what is needed, get involved in organizations... etc.... there are lots of ways to help and make a change WITHOUT the need for saying someone is unattractive.www.bikinisandbiceps.com

These women make their own choices, and some find their body type attractive, nothing wrong with that. What drives me crazy are those that insist that these women are naturally skeletal. They are not. As most people who lived in Milan, I knew several people that worked in the fashion industry. They are not that skinny naturally. They chain smoke and drink tons of coffee. Coke and amphetamines are widely used. They will go entire days without eating almost anything. They use laxatives and they make themselves throw up. A girl I knew was so starved and emaciated she literally couldn't get out of her bed in the morning. She had a nurse with the keys to the house whose job was to come in each morning, go straight to her bedroom, and give her a shot (I am guessing some glucose or something similar) so she could stand up. She told me most of the other models did the same, and she told me I'd have been shocked to see their black and blue butts from all the injections. She would go into these "competitions" with other girls in "who can eat the least in a week". Some survived on an apple a day for several consecutive days, or half a dozen of water crackers for the whole day. Of course these things aren't glamorous, not to mention deadly, which is why the models insist in claiming they are naturally skeletal, and the designers, agents etc don't look too good in making their models do this for their work, so they also claim their models are naturally skeletal. But to believe they are natural is about as silly as believing IFBB pro women are natural.
