Question Need to gain size for football (o-line)

Im 5'6 205lbs 16 years old (17 on January), i play football (center) and im going to start next season. The left tackle is shorter than me like 5'4 maybe 5'5 and he weights 210/215 and he looks fatter than me. He looks like a lineman and i look like a linebacker.
My backup is 5'10 260 pounds but im better than him and if i had his size it would be a huge advantage for me

You're a lucky guy, I was in a similar spot going into college, very fun summer of eating and training.

I'm 5'10 and played my senior season at 215, RG/NT. The school I decided on wanted me at nose and wanted me to weigh 240 going into camp. I decided on making sure that my 40 didn't get above a 4.89, and my vert didn't get below 30.5 inches, and putting on as much weight as possible until I reached those thresholds. I was running in the high 4.6's-mid 4.7's and verting 33.5-34 at 215 for some frame of reference.

I'd pick out the numbers that work for you and eat until you reach the weight you want (while training hard of course). Most schools have an off-season lifting program, if yours does do that.

Tune out all of the lean slow bulk stuff that is on this site. That is for guys who are trying to obtain a physique. You're an athlete trying to perform and the fact is that someone who is 220 pounds is harder to move than someone who is 205. You don't want to sacrifice all of your athleticism which is why you pick your 40 and vert numbers and keep gaining until you reach your threshold (FWIW I got to 245 without quite reaching mine).

    Just eat, train, and repeat.
