I've been working out for 5 months. I'm on the verge of quitting working out. I'm a bodybuilder and recently, every time I enter the gym I procrastinate. Most times it feels like an assignment rather than a hobby. I'm finding so many excuses as to why I should stop working out. I need some sort of motivation.

Why force it, OP? 99.99% of people dgaf about lifting, muscles, gym strength, etc. and the world is full of other things to do and dedicate your time to. If you spend too much time on the misc you start to think that it's the only thing worth doing in life, which is a big lamo.
Could have been a slayer.

Been lifting since i was 14.
its more of a way of life, as Clive would say"I'm not going to be jerked around by some chick who thinks her pussy is going to magically override my sense of self-respect. I'm not a phucking performing seal, I'm not going to do tricks to get a mouthful of fish."

I started lifting in 2004. At this point, I no longer have the desire to go balls to the wall heavy anymore honestly. But, I still go to the gym 4-5 times a week to keep in shape, and keep what strength I have up.
For me personally, I just like lifting. It is a good stress reliever for me. It would be a shame to have wasted all this time getting my weight up, and then just quitting.*US Navy Vet*

- I don't want to be one of those elderly people who need help getting out of a car or onto a sidewalk.
- I don't want to become obese.
- Now that I've been at it for a while, I don't want to lose all of the progress that I've made.
- I've learned to enjoy being in the gym. It's my escape from everything else in my life.

lol'd at 5 month noob claiming to be a bodybuilder.
For me lifting is just a great outlet for both stress and to improve myself for the better. I just love seeing the pump and I'm not sure if that'll ever get old.
Keep at it man. You should at least be seeing the noob gains...if you're even lifting and dieting correctly that is. That should be enough to keep you motivated IMO.*closet narcissist crew*

My uncle. he's dead. he was the king of putting things off. had pneumonia like 19 times and weighed around 320 at his peak. had diabetes at an early age and ignored it, played the denile card as long as he could. dead at 61. his dad dead at 49. his dads brother dead at 34. see a trend yet? my 55 year old brother is 5'7" and hit 424lbs about a 1 1/2 years ago. when they admitted him in Dallas last year his sugar was 600! I figured the doc handed him a coffin catalog and said "pick one". hows that for motivation? he lost 45lbs in 6 weeks. he leveled off after a year at about 75lbs lost. That's motivated. plus he has his sugar under control at around 100 regularly.

After lifting for a while it becomes a habit srs. Motivation only made me start. now i dont even think i just go to the gym anyways
but when i started out i thought of the benefits
- Losing fat - looking better in clothes by losing the gut
- gaining mass - I just prefer being muscular over being a skinny ******* or fat slob
- Makes you more motivated and hard working. Can apply the discipline to other areas of life
- Health - will live longer ,have less diseases etc
- Staring at girls in tights
- meet other lifters or train with friends who have same passion and goals to get big/compete against eachother etc

op if u wanna try something else, go on a strength program.
Start starting strength by mark rippletoe, u will be seeing major strength gainz, thus gettingvu motivated.
Heck, u might realize then that u wanna go the powerlifting route.
Remember - strength is never a weakness"One would tolerate a world of demons for the sake of an angel"
